Hi guys, sorry to make a whole topic for this question but Im not that savvy about forum protocol and where to go to post this but since you guys are my peeps I figured I would ask u :)

On form ds-157 we are to list last employers for 10 years but when using accrobat it prevents you from putting full address. I already disabled java so i do have a little bit more control but I could only fit douala CM for cameroon or should I just put cameroon? Im a lil OCD so having to mark it and put in a second sheet is sloppy to me :content: but I will if I have to. Do you think the embassy would accept the douala CM? if not how do I "mark it" to add the second sheet. Thanks for all your help.

Hey everyone,

I have a question and I thought this post would be a good time to interject. Samuel has both packets 3&4. Now, I have been looking at them and everyone else seems to be helping their SO's with the forms. Samuel has not asked for any help. Of course I certainly do not want to question his intelligence. However, should I approach my honey about helping? He is so independent and I am sure he can handle it. I guess in a way I would love to help, because it would keep me busy and from going crazy while we wait for the interview.

Thanks

Erika

P.S. Zee are you packed! :P

My fiance is doing everything on his end on his own. If he has any questions he knows that we can find the answers but so far he's good :)

No, no packing

Does Acrobat shrink the size of the font when you type in too much? Mine does that and I don't know if it is a standard thing with this fill-in forms. For employment areas, I too just put in Douala or Yaounde as many of the individual addresses weren't complete at all. I was quite ####### and even used the proper French punctuation. There was no space for that " yellow building next to the mango tree on the hill" type answer.

That is good! I did everything and in the end he really didn't understand how much work had gone into the process. This way he knows a portion of the stress and it balances out :star:

I was with my SO when he picked up packet 3 and 4. Thaks to VJ I knew the forms in the packet. I downloaded all of the forms that were required 156, 156k and 157 and typed and printed them for him. The embassy has copies of all the forms in the packet, and they can hand write the forms. I just thought it would be neater if I did them. Another reason was form DS-156, is only available through the internet and once it is completed the program prompts you to continue (submit), it then sends back a completed pdf form with a Bar-Code.

For me completing the forms was a big relief off my shoulders.

Truthfully, Bassi and I are both nervous wrecks right now. We both thought this was a 6 month processing going into it. And we were rudely awakened. We've been doing everything together. We did the petition together on my last trip. I type better than he does, so I typed most of the forms. On packet 3 and 4 (not that I have it) but I downloaded most of the forms and we talked about them and filled them out together. It gave us something to sort of bond over in the process. So, we're equally stressed and one isn't thinking about it or absorbing it more. That seemed to work best for us. Then we both feel part of the whole process. There isn't anything I can do to help about the interview. I think being there will help his nerves (and mine too) so, I'm hoping to be there. But it's really up to him.

Thanks guys for all the replies. It was driving me crazy thinking that I should be doing more. We also filled out the I-129 together before I left Ghana. So, I was thinking I should help with the packets. He is so calm at this point and I wonder sometimes how he does it.

Acrobat doesnt shrink my fonts. I wish. It actually cuts of the tops in some fields not matter if capitalized or not. But disabling java helps me to be able to write in the format I want like typing letters in the fields only meant for numbers and vice versa. It helps when im typing in dates.

Thanks for responding to my question everyone. it really is helping right now. Im getting so nervous but I try to keep busy. My husband is going to freak when he sees the call logs from pingo, jajah and my cell. He doesnt know how much i spend on calls, frankly i didnt realize it till I printed them out and added them up. :o
