I am so tired of people automatically associating illegal immigrant with Mexicans. In my opinion,it's their money, they worked for it,thay can send it where they damn well please.

Well what are they then? Norwegians. Never realized they spoke Spanish.

Does that also apply to drug dealers and a stolen money?

Perpetuating some more myths and generalizations.

It may be that there is far higher % of illegal aliens that are from South America, Mexico included. That does not mean one should automatically associate illegal immigrants with Mexicans. It applies equally, if not more so to drug dealers. Stolen money is a new one on me though.

NUMBERS, ORIGINS, AND DESTINATIONS

Total number: Our best estimate, based on the March 2002 Current Population Survey and other data sources, is that there are 9.3 million undocumented immigrants in the country.1 They represent 26 percent of the total foreign-born population [figure 1].

Countries of origin: Mexicans make up over half of undocumented immigrants—57 percent of the total, or about 5.3 million. Another 2.2 million (23 percent) are from other Latin American countries. About 10 percent are from Asia, 5 percent from Europe and Canada, and 5 percent from the rest of the world.

Distribution by state: Almost two-thirds of the undocumented population lives in just six states: California (26 percent), Texas (12 percent), Florida (10 percent) New York (8 percent), Illinois (4 percent), and New Jersey (4 percent) [table 1]. But, the most rapid growth in the undocumented population since the mid-1990s has been outside these states.

States where the undocumented represent high shares of the immigrant population: The undocumented make up more than 40 percent of the foreign-born population in 10 states—most of which saw their foreign-born populations grow rapidly during the 1990s. High-growth regions are the Rocky Mountains, the Midwest, and the Southeast. The undocumented populations of Arizona, Georgia, and North Carolina have grown so rapidly that they may already have surpassed New Jersey's [figure 2].

It is obvious, since Mexico and US share long border. They do come to USA to seek better lives. Most of them are hard working and good people. Let's not dislike them, because they come to USA illegally. Let the Govt take care of the illegal immigration and let IRS take care of issuing rebate check (to those who paid taxes).

We are a goverment of the people........When you say let the Govt take care of illegals, we be that goverment!

Automatically associated. lol Good one.

Maybe it's Australians who are coming here illegally and I am really trying to mask this by putting the spot light on Mexicans. You should look into that conspiracy.

According to the Internal Revenue Service, the 400 richest American households earned a total of $US138 billion, up from $US105 billion a year earlier. That's an average of $US345 million each, on which they paid a tax rate of just 16.6 per cent.

Yes, we're a govt of the people. That is why, we elect Congressman, Senator, President. You have right to write them, meet them about it. But let IRS do its job and lets not dislike those who came here to seek better lives and who want to help their families.

I-130 Timeline with USCIS:

It took 92 days for I-130 to get approved from the filing date

NVC Process of I-130:

It took 78 days to complete the NVC process

Interview Process at The U.S. Embassy

Interview took 223 days from the I-130 filing date. Immigrant Visa was issued right after the interview

Good for them. Why should poor and middle class Americans be punished for their situations?

Why should even one American be a victim of crime from an illegal immigrant? It does not take a genius to realize that both the good and the extremely bad are jumping the border.

Here are some facts on what illegal immigrants are taking from American taxpayers..

# $12,000,000,000 annual cost to America to educate the kids of illegal aliens.

# another $17,000,000,000 to pay for educating the anchor babies of illegal aliens.

# 30% of FEDERAL PRISONERS are not US citizens.

# American taxpayers spend $3,300,000 every day to house non-us citizen prisoners.

----------------

$400,000,000,000 estimated 10 year cost

Low skilled households

* Pay $9,689 in taxes

* Receive $32,138 in benefits.

There was an Australian here illegally that recently made the news, when he was appointed treasurer of the California Republican party.

Pelosi, Boehner Say Econ Bill Won't Benefit Illegal Immigrants

By Martin Kady II

Jan 31, 2008

(The Politico) Congressional leaders are taking extra measures to make sure the economic stimulus bill has clear language to prevent illegal immigrants from receiving tax rebate checks.

The House-passed bill has a line that makes undocumented aliens ineligible for the tax rebates, which could be $600 for individuals and $1,200 for households under the bill the House passed Tuesday. But potentially hundreds of thousands of illegal immigrants currently use individual taxpayer identification numbers (ITINs) instead of Social Security numbers to file income tax returns, and because they are taxpayers, they could receive tax rebates. House aides say use of ITINs for tax returns by illegal immigrants may constitute tax fraud, but the IRS does not check legal status on tax returns.

Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-Calif.) and House Minority Leader John A. Boehner (R-Ohio) on Thursday morning issued a statement affirming that undocumented immigrants are not eligible for tax rebates and say they will try to further clarify this intent before the bill is sent to President Bush.

“The legislation that we authored, and which passed the House yesterday with overwhelming bipartisan support, would not allow any taxpayer funds to be distributed to illegal immigrants," Pelosi and Boehner said in a joint statement. "In fact, the bill includes language similar to the provisions included in the 2001 and 2003 tax relief bills to prevent illegal immigrants from receiving any benefits."

“We will take legislative action to clarify and underscore this prohibition so we can expedite the rebates to millions of eligible Americans.”

The Senate Finance Committee on Wednesday strengthened the eligibility requirements, saying only people using Social Security numbers and not ITINs will be eligible for the rebates. The Politico reported the controversy here yesterday.

I think you guys have caught Aussies out.

I know I have a friend who would love to come live and work here but is having trouble getting a visa. And then I think of the millions of Mexicans who are here without a freakin high school diploma. But wait I forgot, they are the only poor people in the world and should be entitled to come here. The US should just get rid of the southern border completely so they can focus on the real threat such as Canadians coming across the northern border without proper ID.

According to the Internal Revenue Service, the 400 richest American households earned a total of $US138 billion, up from $US105 billion a year earlier. That's an average of $US345 million each, on which they paid a tax rate of just 16.6 per cent.

:secret: If you actually read that story, you would know the rules apply to ALL land & sea crossings - Northern or SOUTHERN.
