I don't understand....does NVC make the interview appointment at the embassy or does the Embassy make their own appointments? Are you waiting to be in a "march pile" to leave the NVC or March pile at Jamaica embassy for interviews?

I was told that the NCV makes the appointments for the embassy in Kingston. Every time I call NVC I am told that Kingston was all booked up.

Oh I see. I don't know why the Jamaica Embassy is always so booked up! For that island to be as tiny as it is, that Embassy does a lot of work. Its been pretty much like this for the last year as I've noticed. JA Embassy is usually 2-3 months off from NVC completion to interview date. This process could be so much faster if it wasn't for that. I know that when I checked back in Nov/Dec, for a non-immigrant visa they were scheduling interviews for Feb! So it seemed like then they were 2-3 months behind.

You'd probably get more info on the JA Embassy scheduling in the regional forums.

Oh, sorry. Just saying that you'd probably get your question answered over in the regional Yardie threads where more Jamaica petitioners are. Being that you want to know about interview dates coming out of the Jamaica Embassy, mostly only Jamaican petitioners can truly answer that best for you. Once your waiting for the Embassy your case gets very country specific with how it handles things, so the Yardie thread could probably help you out. I know Jason&Marla and Deyoungting are waiting for interview too.

Dimples and Lita -- here is how it's going with the interview scheduling. NVC is scheduling the interviews for IR1/CR1 interviews. In Jason and Gill's case, because they are doing K1/K3 visas, the Jamaican embassy is scheduling those directly.

I am not sure how NVC does it, but here is my scenario based on what I went through (I was one of the first cases that NVC started scheduling for Kingston). On the Kingston website, it probably still says that they only do IV interviews on Tuesdays and Thursdays. My case, my interview was on a Friday and that caused a bit of confusion with some yardies that are used to the old way. I called NVC and they said, they scheduled my interview. They apparently put down the date and the time - then let Kingston know this is the day and time scheduled for an individual's interview. It took about 2 weeks for it to be finally updated in the Embassy's computer the day & time of my interview.

I know, long answer, but that's how it's going now.
