I am in the process of studying right now since I am waiting to be called for my interview. I am using this booklet they gave me at the local office when I went to do my biometrics in december. It also has a CD in it. BTW if you go to the Civics and Citizenship Study Materials page on the USCIS website, you can find all the stuff you need to study, the files are at the bottom of the page if you scroll down. I find the flashcards particularly helpful when I try to memorize stuff.

It's funny that you mention this today...on the way home from Richard's biometrics we (already) starting discussing a stratagy..I think starting using the flash cards sooner rather than later at a casual pace is the way to go.

I know with Richard there is plenty he knows already but plenty he has to learn (the same stuff I would..even though I graduated from college with a dual minor in history & political science) .

Not at all, in fact that's what I did and what my sister did as well this past October. We memorized every single question and answer and the interviewer will ask you each question exactly the same.

Yep that's all I did. OH started asking me random questions at odd times in the car or wherever and now I am confident I know them all without thinking.

You might not even have to study. If you just talk to people, read books, watch old movies or historical documentaries, etc. then you will just learn by osmosis. By the time you are ready to apply for citizenship you may already know all if not most, of the answers just from living here for a few years.

Thanks all for your ideas.... my husband is converting the downloaded PDF Flash cards file, so I can view it in my ipod touch... question on 1 page answer on the next.... hope it works out....

As they publish the questions ans answers what is the advantage of taking classes, what do you gain by doing so?

I am a terrible test-taker and I've heard that you only get 2 chances at the test and if you don't pass the 2nd time, you can't get citizenship.

I'm not going to start studying until I hear when my interview will be. Then my husband will help me study and quiz me on the questions.

You have to get 6 questions right out of 10, is that correct?

My wife is taking classes for her exam through the Adult Continuing Education Program offered by Fairfax County Public Schools. It is the same place where she took her advanced English classes. She is also using the study guides available through USCIS website.
