My question is, can i send a money order or a check, which one is faster. I dont want my application to delay. My husband spend my money, i was so sad when i saw the letter, infact i feel like fainting. Please can someone tell me, can i send a money order. And one more thing, it shows on the head of the letter that the letter was typed on the 17th of january 2008, but it has a posted stamp on the envelop for 25th of january 2008, which one is the correct one to start counting from.

:help: me

I would suggest a postal money order.

But their own bank can easily tell them when the certified check was been cashed..

Giving some relief to poster's stress level.

The question was which one was faster not which one could be more easily tracked--- a money order or check. A postal money order should, it would seem to me, "clear" faster than a certified check or money orders issued by other entities, but I might be wrong.

I'm told with a cashier's check the funds are available the same or next day (they are the same as cash). I have no idea about the postal money order but it can't be much quicker.

I mentioned the tracking...because everyone wants to know when their check has been cashed.

I dont know why we got our NOA, and did the biometric before the check was cash. But the letter sent to us, it has my application receipt number, the form number, my A# number, and invoice number.

It says that we will receive an invoice and if we didnt receive an inovice which will show why the payment was returned, what we owe, including the penalties, and where the payment will be send to, we should call. So i call this morning, and i got the answer. I think may be because my husband make the check payable to USCIS, instead of US. Department of Homeland Security.

I just went to my bank yesterday to get my cheque. I was told they don't do certified cheques any more, but I got a bank cheque instead. So the funds were pulled from my account right away. The bank also guaranteed that I could go back to them and find out when the cheque was cashed.
