You are talking CIS interview in the USA yet you posted this to DCF forum. What is it? DCF and interview in Guangzhou, or Adjustment of status in the USA from a K-Visa?

The do not issue a CR-1 stamp, CR-1 is a visa issued by the consulate in foreign country from either I-130 filing in the USA or DCF in the foreign country, CR-1 is issued to persons married less than 2 years.

AOS interview if successful and approved may result in an I-551 stamp in passport.

I am actually asking this question for my son. He and his wife have a CIS interview in March. they are both in the US and filed while here. Do they get approved or denied similar to overseas? If approved would they get the Conditional Residence or I-551 stamp in her passport that day or a couple days after? Sorry about the confusion. hoot17

If approved they usually stamp passport with I-551 stamp to make passport act as temp green-card. Sometimes they approve pending name checks, in this case they don't do the I-551 stamp, so keep the EAD and renew it if needed, FBI checks can take some time.

If they deny, you only have a very short time to appeal the decision.
