Hello everyone,

Let me tell you a little about my situation. I came to the US on a student visa and went to school and became a Registered Nurse. That was in 1997. About a year after I applied for an EAD card based on economic hardship and did get it. It was only valid for 1 year. I was unable to get it renewed. By then my status as a student was no longer any good. I have been working however because I had to survive somehow. Well, last year(05/2005) I met my husband. I finally sent in my application for AOS on 12/15/2005. I got my biometrics appt on 1/23/2006. Then on 4/21/2006 I received my appointment for my interview on 6/15/2006. By the way I received my EAD card today(4/24/2006). Very happy. However I do have a little situation My husband is in the military, the NAVY to be exact and he goes on deployment 06/06/2006. What do I do? He is going to be away for six months. I know that this is really going to delay my processing. Do you think if I ask, we will get an earlier date. Just hoping. I would really like anybody's input. I mean, he being in the military and all.

You might try an info pass to see if they can expedite the interview before deployment. The USCIS is usually pretty good in dealing with military folks. Good luck
