I was just wondering if anyone is having problems with not getting items from NVC. We been waiting for the packets to come and everytime I email the NVC about it. They tell us that they are still waiting for this and still waiting for that. I called the hotline this morning and it states that they reviewed the I-864 form and its missing items. when I got the letter today in the mail and it stated that they are still waiting for the DS-230 form visa(which we never got in the mail) I went to the website to download the form and it turns out that its the packet we been waiting. I been asking NVC almost every week and they never really answer my questions this whole thing has be frustrated and so upset. I want to pull my hair out. Is anyone esle going through this as well. Can anyone can help me out, give us some pointers, maybe it will help ease the stress.

Thanks

Amy

Hi Amy,

Sorry this is turning in to such a hassle for you.

For the DS-230, be sure to check the link below as well, these are the instructions for each consulate and as Islambad is an Appointment processing post you will need to send in all your civil documents as well. You can find the DS-230 and instructions on what else you need/need to do there, just choose Islambad from the drop down menu:

For the I-864 checklist they are sending you, you can call the NVC and speak with an operator and they should be able to tell you exactly why they are sending you a checklist, you can then prepare ahead of time whatever they are requesting.

As to your question, yes, I have heard of others having a hard time, one person the other day got the same letter about the DS-230 as you did - he also received the DS-230 package on the same day - NVC does have problems with mailing out sometimes. One of the forms they sent us, I don't remember which, took two weeks just to get posted.

You can always try James's shortcuts for the DS-230, if you want to, thereby saving time with not waiting for NVC to get things in the mail.

Good luck

Hello Amy,

I had the same problem while we were going through the NVC. The paperwork they were missing was of course the DS-230 and my husband personal documents but I had such a hard time trying to find out when the NVC was going to send me the DS-230 coversheet, so I ended up waiting for it. You can't just send the DS-230 with the documents without the coversheet. But it eventually gets mailed to you.
