  1. 1. Were you (or your spouse)/will you (or your spouse) be able in your state to get your driver's license right away?

Anyone in Michigan? It looks like you need to be a PR just to get a license there... anywhere else?

OK.

From a VJ post we understood I could not. We missunderstood the conditions and wait until i have my EAD. But that time we figured out that i could have used my home country driver's license. But i hate driving so i was pretty happy to be a passenger. But it took me three exams to pass, my location is know for hard and honestly i was not the best driver and I dont think I am yet.

See the web page of DMV and check out in the manual the law for your state.

My husband needed the NOA1 for his AOS before he could get anything from the DMV. He got a state ID first, then tested for his learner's permit and got it on the first try. Now he has to wait 6 months before taking the road test for the regular license. He can drive from 6 a.m. to midnight with a licensed driver over 21 in the passenger seat with him. From midnight to 6 a.m. he has to have his parent or guardian in the front seat, but his mom doesn't have her tourist visa yet so I do the driving after midnight.

I'm the USC.
