We just send our form I-29F.. Today (February 16,08) and we mailed it by following the given address of the I-29F instruction...

Goodluck to all of us here...

Oh why did your attorney filed 129-f without the copy of NOA from IR-130? it's important that it should be enclosed.. is why many are waiting for NOA from their filing IR-130 coz its a PREQUISITE in filing 129- F (K3 SPOUSE NON-IMMIGRANT VISA).. :o

you can send I-129f without NOA 1 from I-130. you place a cover page, or our attorney did saying we will follow up with the case number after receipt. they will hold it.

Hello! Nice to meet you. :)

So it's not only the two of us struggling with this situation!

We got married October 13, 2007.

Our I-130 petition was received by USCIS California Service Center November 8, 2007.

We received the receipt for I-130 on January 28, 2008

and sent the I-129F the same day.

January 30, 2008 our I-129F was received by California Service Center and we got the receipt on February 4.

Our cases were last updated February 5, but they are just pending. They don't say how long they estimate it might take.

Do you have any clue how long it might take since we received the receipt for I-129F till I get the visa?

I read the graphics on this site and I saw they estimate 328 days for K3. That seems awfully long.

I wish you all to be with your loved ones as soon as possible.

Dear all,

I am new to this forum and am very happy to see a thread for Jan 08 129-F/K3 FILERS. I am encouraged to see that the feelings and frustrations I am undergoing are not unique to me. I wish everybody in this forum quick and successful processing of their petitions, so that you are united with your SO without any further suffering.

My Visa Journey started with my marriage in Aug 07. I told my wife that in 5-6 months she will be in US. I filed my I-130 in Sept 07, hoping to get NOA1 in 3 weeks time. Little did I know about the troubled times ahead. Like everybody else, I got caught in the backlog of "over 3 million application in June, July and August" (as USCIS would like to say). Anyway, cutting the long story short, I finally got NOA1 in Jan 08. In other words, it took more than 3 months instead of 3 weeks. During this time I was constantly monitoring the USCIS link where they used to post weekly updates on receiting status.

After receiving NOA1 for I-130, I filed for I-129F, for which I got NOA1 in 3 weeks! Now the wait period begins. Normally it takes about 3-4 months for NOA2 to clear. But considering the backlog it could go either way - either too early or too late. I have read in the news that USCIS has hired more people to process the backlog. Considering that uniting families is top priority for USCIS, I am hoping that all our petitions get approved quicker than normal processing time.

Hurry Up USCIS!! Hurry Up!!

Here's my timeline:

Since I found this site I check statistics and timelines and graphics every day. They cause me lots of sadness, but I still look every day hoping predictions will get better.

They (USCIS) were obviously jammed because of the great number of applications sent in July and August and just the way it was with the receipts (they were blocked but then they got to work faster and faster on them) so maybe just the same way, once they get past this wave they will work faster and we will get approved earlier than predicted now. What do you think? Is that possible? :)

hmmm... I try to think of encouraging possibilities, but with all my faith and optimistic thinking I get to be desperate at times. It hurts very badly to be parted. Sometimes I cannot concentrate on anything here and I feel at a loss, without meaning here by myself. :(

And then, other people here (not on the forum, in my real life), instead of encouraging me, give me advice saying: "oh, you should have done that or that and you would have been there by now". Maybe some of them are right, but that makes things even more annoying!!! What can I do now?!

HI WELCOME TO THIS TOPIC...

YEAH I CAN UNDERSTAND WHAT U MEANT BY GETTING ANNOYED TO SOME OF THE PEOPLE AROUND YOU... ITS BECAUSE THEY DONT HAVE ANY KNOWLEDGE ABT THE REAL STATUS AT THE USCIS PROCESS... AND ITS ANNOYING WHEN THEY TELL U SHOULD HAVE DONE, I MYSELF JUST IGNORE THOSE PEOPLE WHO DISCOURAGING ME..

ALL WE CAN DO IS JUST WAIT AND LOVE OUR SPOUSE MORE WITH THE WAITS... LETS BE MORE PATIENT, AND RIGHT TIME WILL COME FOR US...

Thank you for your encouragement. Well, I'll try to be patient.

I hope you get the approval soon, cause I'm right after you. :)

One question:

I noticed that since we waited so long for our NOA1 for I-130, we might get the approval for I-130 before the approval for I-129F. Still, as far as I have understood (tell me if I'm wrong) once you get the approval, K3 is obtained faster than IR1/CR1. Right? So suppose you get both approvals at about the same time. Which one is better to go by? When do you have to tell them you give one or another up? Or do you have to tell them that, or can you just go ahead with both all the way?

thank you

you are welcome.. if both are being approved at the same time, then that's good. . i dont know exactly yet , but i think me and my husband will do both on what the approval notice instructed.. anyway, for now, we don't think of that too much yet because we get stress and as much as possible me and my husband avoid the topic of uscis because its really stressful talking abt that... i talked about this here at site.. It's my husband and i discuss about this only when its needed... (L) (L) (L)

Hello all!

Did you happen to see the following link in USCIS website?

http://www.uscis.gov/portal/site/uscis/men...00045f3d6a1RCRD

It says "Immigrant petitions for relatives and workers may take 9-10 months."

Does this mean January 2008 filers of I-130/K3 can only expect approval in September / October 2008? Some of us mailed I-130 in Sept/Oct 2007, but got the I-130 NOA1 only in Jan 2008. So the 9-10 months stated above starts from Sept/Oct 2007 or Jan 2008?

Anybody has any thoughts on this?
