My fiance's medical exam is February 1, and she isn't getting her passport until about the 5 or 6. We are finishing the passport processing at manila. Her interview is on the 8. Is there anyway we can reschedule the medical exam a little later?

Is it a absolute must to have the passport at the exam?? Weve already paid for plane tickets and im freaking out.

The passport at the medical is absolutely needed.

I think you can reschedule the exam.

You can have it a day before the interview...i'm pretty sure.

Good luck

How do you know that the visa interview will be a success? Booking airfare before the interview is a gamble.

There should be no appointment schedule for the medical.

The Medical examination

All visa applicants, regardless of age, need to complete a medical examination at the St. Luke’s Extension Clinic (SLEC) before the visa interview. Applicants are advised to have their medical examinations done at least one week before their interview appointment at the U.S. Embassy in Manila.

SLEC is located at 1177 J. Bocobo St., Ermita, Manila. They can be reached by telephone at 521-0020 and 521-8647. SLEC is open from 6:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. It is best to arrive for your medical examination between 6:00 a.m. to 8:00 a.m. Applicants are served on a first come first served basis, but the order of release of the medical reports will depend on the complexity of the results of the medical examination.

What should I bring to my medical examination?

  • Appointment letter (you may print out a copy of your appointment letter from the appointment page on our website)

  • Appropriate medical examination fees

  • Passport (valid for at least 6 months)

  • Two colored pictures (2 inches x 2 inches) with a white background

You kind of have a problem.

They schedule the medical one week before interview to give them time to get all the results and send everything to the Embassy. I think it's highly unlikely the one day in advance will be enough time.

BTW, I don't think St. Luke's really has formal appointments. It's just date they give you so you know when to go, and so too many people don't show up on the same day. As soon as you have your interview letter and passport you can go to St. Luke's any time. St. Luke's takes the passport and forwards it to the Embassy with your other papers.

hopefully you haven't booked the tickets to close to interview date. no guarantee St Lukes will have forwared medical results and passport to the Embassy by the interview date if medical only done couple of days prior to interview. even if all goes well at the interview, that could delay the issuance of the visa.
