Friends,

Can somebody explain to me how my NVC case number can be different from the Embassy's number? May be I was understanding it all wrong, but I thought that to schedule a visa appointment I have to use the NVC case number. So I did.

Last week on Thursday I called the Embassy and was told that they didn't have my paperwork delivered by then but that they were expecting some next day, on Friday, so I was offered to call on Monday. I'm calling back today (it's exactly three weeks from Jan7 when our petition was approved) and I'm told that they still don't have it. The guy was kinda nice though and suggested that they might have given our peition another case another, the Embassy's number. He checked what they had using my first name and last name and found it. Needless to say, I got so excited that could finally schedule a visa interview! But not that excited as when he told me that the closest date available would be next Monday, February4  !!! I couldn't think clear the whole day long... So happy  !!!

So this is it. I know it's a small issue but I'm thinking now that the girl I spoke to last week might have also used my name/last name to look further but she didn't. If that guy today wasn't that nice and resourceful, I'd be waiting for who knows how long????

I suppose it happens but our KEV # issued by NVC was the same as what the Consulate had....

Being able to interview in about a weeks time is pretty good... most have to wait 3-6 weeks for an available time slot... good luck.

YMMV
