Correct. El electrón and el protón in the singular. Spanish words that end in -ón drop the accent mark and add -es to form the plural. So electrones and protones are the plurals. Pronounced eh-lek-TROE-ness and pro-TOE-ness.

In that sense, yes. But the origin of the coined term was Greek. Anyhoo, I still vote no and I have nothing against Spanish. It would just make things more difficult. I am already challenged by the English and metric systems at my job.
