Ten years GC and passport stamp?

Guys,

I need to stamp my passport with GC, as plastic green card will take few weeks and i need this work and driving license renewal.

However, my passport s going to expire next year. Can i get a stamp on my passport?

Someone told that u can get an infopass appointment and take welcome to america letter and they stamp ur passport on the occassion. Can this case be applied in ten years card?

The card should be there in about five days after the welcome letter. I don't think you will be given a stamp because the letter says that you have three weeks. (It is less than that).
