Hi everyone,

Does anyone know whether or not I can travel out of the states after an interview? I am scheduled for an interview on May 18.

Enter 1997 F-1 visa

married to USC November 2005

Dec 21 05...sent I-485 and I-130 to Chicago

Jan 04 06...received NOA for both I-130 and I-485

Feb 21 06...Biometrics appointment (only take me half an hour for the whole process)

Mar 25 06...Received a letter for an interview appointment on May 18, 2006

May 18 06...Interview Approved (but no passport stamp, must wait for Welcoming Letter in order to get passport stamp)

May 22 06...Received a Welcome Letter

May 30 06...Green Card Arrived :-) expired May 2008

Feb 26 08...sent I-751 to Nebraska Service Center

Mar 04 08...check $545 cashed

Mar 08 08...received NOA I-797C

July 17 08...10 yrs GreenCard Arrived

Well, if you get a stamp in your passport you may travel...does that help? :)

5/23/03: Justin arrives to visit me in IA from SK.
6/7/03: We got married!
8/23/03: Filed I-130 from SK
8/25/03: Phoned border guards & asked if J could escort me back to IA, yes.
8/26/03: Arrive in IA
8/27/03: Went to USCIS local office to ask if J could stay in the US and file papers, yes
2004: I-130 approved!
6/05: Filed AOS/EAD
7/2/05: Rec'd receipt for I-485
8/05: Rec'd RFE for Biometrics
9/9/05: Rec'd RFE for medical
12/2/06: EAD APPROVED!
12/5/06: EAD card rec'd
1/15/06: AOS interview date for 4/11/06 at 11:00 a.m.
4/11/06: APPROVED!!!!!! NO MORE USCIS FOR 10 YEARS!!! WOOHOO!!! 2016...seems more like a page # than a year. Haha.

If your local office is the same as mine (kansas city Mo) they dont stamp your passport at the time of the interview. I was be able to travel even without the stamp after my interview cause i had the Advance parole document. :yes:

At the time of the interview the immigration officer told me to wait 2weeks for an approval letter and with that i could have my passport stamped but the approval letter never came in the mail...I got the greencard after a lil bit more than a month from the interview
