Green Card without interview???

We filed for AOS just last July right after we got married, and my husband went in for fingerprints, etc. in September. After that, we expected to wait a very long time until we got the letter for the interview. Yesterday when my husband checked the mail, we got a big surprise. First we thought it was just a response to the form he sent indicating our address change, or at most an invitation to an interview - but when we opened the envelope, the first thing we saw was a "Welcome to the United States" heading, along with the confirmation that AOS was approved and he could expect to receive his Permanent Resident card within 3 weeks.

Am I missing something? I thought we would have to go for some kind of interview before he got the Green Card. Is that only for lifting the conditions on permanent residence?

yeah ive read it before, some people get the green card without interview
