Hello VJrs'

This topic might have been discussed before but I could not find it on a quick look so i am starting a string again

After I-130 and I-129F get approved, which route should we follow? My research tells me that pursuing I-30 is more time consuming as all the verification happens via the NVC before the case is forwarded to the Counsulate in the foreign country. However I-130 is one go process which eliminates the AOS involved in bringing your spuce here via the I-129F route. What is the opinion of everyone about this? please advice.

After the I-130 and I-129f are both approved you will not have a choice. The standard is for USCIS to forward the K3 and hold the I-130 for AOS. It costs about $380 and takes approximately 6 months to get the I-130 moving again. There are few exceptions.

Your timeline shows you only filed a I-130.

If you haven't sent in your Form I-129F......throw it away now! But, every situation is unique. The stand-alone I-130 does not seem to be much more "time consuming".
