Hi there,

I know I am a bit ahead of myself because I filed an I-130 in September, the USCIS confirmed they received the I-130 and my wife and I are still waiting for further instructions.

Can you give me a general idea of the steps following this?

Also in terms of the interview, do I need to attend the interview with my wife in Montreal,Canada? and if possible could you list the paperwork/info that we need to bring along with us for the interview? I am just so clueless and I just don't want to accidently disgard something that ends up being relevent during the interview.

Thanks!!

Refer to the guides as they are actually quite comprehensive. More situation specific questions can then be asked and addressed. The following Dept of State link will instruct you on what documents you need to prepare. I suggest you prepare early.

Hi! as far as I know and what is it here in my country, it is not necessary that u'll be with ur wife on her interview day though it's going to be a "plus factor" if u will go cuz that's a big proof of ur love and ongoing relationship and support to her. As for the documents, she needs to bring the necessary ones such as the I-864 Affidavit of Support, your W2s and ITR, her birth ceritificate, marriage certificate, divorce papers (if one of you are legally separated), proof of your contious relatioship, photos, and other documents that u think is important to prove that ur marriage/relationship is real.

Don't we have to send the I-864 Affidavit of Support to NVC? How can our love one bring that to the interview? Do we make a copy of the one that we send to NVC? or do NVC return it to them?
