Agree with you Mr Fancypants. An incredibly inspirational speech. I hope Obama wins because he is representative of the hope and break from the past we all need. All of us around the world.

His detractors need to carefully read his words:

"we are not just up against the ingrained and destructive habits of Washington, we are also struggling against our own doubts, our own fears, and our own cynicism."

What change are you afraid of?

I feel really hopeful and excited about moving to the US knowing there is a possibility that someone like Obama will be President.

Tryin payin your bills with some of that "HOPE" Let me know if it works.

Hope has no bearing on my ability to pay my bills. That's why I go to work. I'm not living in the US (yet) but under this administration people are seriously struggling to make ends meet, paying medical bills, mortgages etc. Something needs to change. I don't get what your point is.

When a representative is elected, that is what they are - a representative, of the people. I may not agree with all of Obama's plans, but I do support him and I hope he wins the nomination and I will vote for him.

Once he is in office the people of America need to stand up and speak about what they would like to see changed, that is how it is supposed to work. If you don't like his health care plan you need to let the Government know - it seems sometimes like people just go back to the same old-same old the minute someone is elected, that's not how it is supposed to work.

If you want to be represented you have to speak up.

I will put it this way. There is no one man that can do what Obama is promising without the help of congress. He his making promises he can never keep. If it feels good, vote for it, very foolish indeed. The Dems controlled congress at one time for over forty years and of course the problems still exist today. Why? because its the lefts mantra. Being naive is what they are counting on.

That is the country I see. That is the country you see. But now it is up to us to help the entire nation embrace this vision. Because in the end, we are not just up against the ingrained and destructive habits of Washington, we are also struggling against our own doubts, our own fears, and our own cynicism. The change we seek has always required great struggle and sacrifice. And so this is a battle in our own hearts and minds about what kind of country we want and how hard we're willing to work for it.

Im gonna raise your taxes!

The mother who can't get Medicaid to cover all the needs of her sick child - she needs us to pass a health care plan that cuts costs and makes health care available and affordable for every single American.

His plan doesnt cover every american!

good schools or decent wages because our leaders couldn't come together and get it done.

This guy is a piece of work, he has no control over wages.

SFW?

I don't mind paying an extra few hundred a year in taxes to cover those who aren't as fortunate as I am right now. A few years ago, I was that single mother praying for health care insurance for my son. I made too much to qualify for medicaid and too little to afford it privately AND support a house that I own.

He is a wonderful piece of work !!! Thankfully, Americans are realizing how great he is and are standing behind him.

He's got my vote, and if my husband could vote-he'd have his too !

Mr. Bruce will just have to wait until Barack's 2nd term !

What problems exist today because of the Democrats? (This is gonna be good)

You've had the oppurtunity in the past eight years to volunteer to give a couple hundred dollars to the unfortunate. Why havent you? The guy makes struggling and suffering a badge of honor and you are buying it

By the way, you should be recieving your stimulus check in the mail in may, you can start by giving that to the unfortunate souls at your local hospital. Just walk in to the accounts dept. and tell them to apply it to peoples bills that are having a hard time paying. I will be looking forward to seeing a copy of the receipt on this thread. NEVER GONNA HAPPEN IS IT?:lol::lol:

Yo...Mr. All Knowing,

How the hell would you know what I have contibuted in 8 years, let alone in my lifetime? I am a therapist, and I handle pro-bono cases WHENEVER they come. People CANNOT affford to pay for medical treatment, so I treat them for FREE, on MY OWN TIME. Not on office time... Why? Because they can not pay, they need treatment and I have compassion for human beings...That is WHY I chose my occupation. My kindness has been returned to me tenfold over the last year. I no longer struggle to make ends meet, but I will NEVER forget what it feels like.

Also, what inside scoop do you have on my financial history within the past 8 years? Have you been sleeping with my accountant or something?

My husband's company deals with bad debts from hospitals-what makes you think YOU haven't paid already ? Your insurance premiums have gone up annually, no? Maybe you need a cup of coffee to wake up???

Lastly, Wise A**- if I should ever get a "stimulus" check , I will donate it over to you for some lessons in tolerance and humanity. Maybe you wouldn't be such a douchebag with every pot-stirring post you make.

PS. Yes, we can ! Yes, we can ! Yes, we can !

If it's a TOS violation, then please go ahead and report it.

I feel very strongly about what I do, and how HARD I worked to get there. I don't need ANYONE who has NO IDEA about what I have done professionally, or personally-assuming that I haven't contributed to our society-monetarily, or otherwise. It's quite annoying.

Everyone is entitled to their opinion, and I have mine. If it's too strong for you, then don't read it. It's very simple.
