Apply for Adjustment of Status (AOS). You should file as soon as possible. If you have not filed for AOS and your K-1 expires, you will be considered out-of-status until you file. Make all attempts to file before you become out-of-status. You may also file for your EAD and AP at this time.

The sooner, the better, that way you don't have to deal with it later. Once Jenny got here in US, first thing you want to do is get her a SSN. Make her apply for a number at least 2 weeks upon her arrival. That way, her entry is already in DHS system, which SSA checks on. She also needs to complete her vaccinations and make sure she got the record because she will need all her immunizations transcribed in a form (I-693a) as part of AOS paperwork. Check on the GUIDES and familiarize yourself on how to work on the AOS application. You will find there everything you need.

You really don't have to rush AOS once you and Jenny got married within the 90-day period. The problem is, once she's out of status, she cannot apply for SSN, driver's license, cannot work too (not unless she got the EAD) and cannot enjoy life with limited freedom. Greencard will be her freedom so it's better to have it done and over with.

Good luck on your life together! Hang out and read more here at AOS section and you will find everything so easy.

You apply for EAD and AP when you do AOS...from what I understand it is all included in the fees now but you must file at the same time.

EAD stamp may be available if the POE is JFK airport, this is good for the first 90 day (same life as the K-1 visa)....there is a lot of chat about this if you do a topic search.

To answer that, read on here: http://www.visajourney.com/forums/index.ph...p;#entry1399173. That's the topic I started for my friend who didn't file AOS after she got married. I am not suggesting that you don't do it right away since the greencard is her freedom (and protection) here in the US. With it, she can travel out of the country anytime she wants without the need of Advanced Parole. She can also work with her greencard without the need of EAD. She can apply for a driver's license and can freely drive.

About EAD, she can apply for it along with her AOS (and AP). I believe right now, the fee for AOS is $1010 including AP and EAD. While waiting for her AOS to be processed, she can work and travel with those two because they are (most of the time) issued faster (within 60 days or so), while AOS can take from 6 mos. up to God-knows-when to be approved.

Good luck to you. The GUIDE will help because everything's there.

Hello thanks again Vj'rs......I already have the fees set aside, so we will file for AOS before the 90 days are up (just time to gather any required paper work). And with that we start another process  so to understand this clearly.
