K-3 Visa / Married / Jordan Embassy

We are on our Next Step and after getting eye-strain & headache searching for answers  I decided to post. I know some of you have probably answered these q's but if you got the time & patience, I hope you don't mind helping me (and others who this may help in the future). I read the example form for I-134..but still need help. You can reply here or PM me.. Thanks (F)

Questions:

1. Do I answer questions that do not apply with "n/a", "not applicable", or "none"? This is refering to questions say "if none, state none".

2. Question #3- Husband lives in Jordan and he only has street name and city. He recieves mail at a subscribed mailbox and/or picks it up in Amman. What address is acceptable to write here?

3. How far in advance can I get employer letters? NVC just sent case to Jordan on January 18th. Haven't heard from Jordan yet.

4. Question #7- EMPLOYMENT- I have two jobs but there is only a place to add info for one. Where can I add the other jobs info?

5. Question #7- $$$- (petioner/sponsor)

  • I only have a checking account and as for personal property, I own a used old car.. so I will be looking up value of that if needed. Im not sure if all this is needed since I will be submitting info of annual income & will have co-sponsor (with verification of pay stub, employers letters, Tax transcripts and W-2's)
6. Question #7- $$$- (co-sponsor)

I will also have my dad as co-sponsor (income from Retirement annuity, V.A. disability and social security)

  • What does this mean? (Im thinking its meaning total current balance owed). "With mortgage(s) or other encumbrance(s) theron amounting to: $___
  • To show evidence of income (Retirement,V.A, & Soc.Sec), we do not have all past years of tax transcripts because he did not have to file due to income level. Only 2007 due to sale of property in 2006. What types of documents and/or letters would he need to submit?
7. Question #11- On example form they wrote "N/A ( K1 visa process for permanent residence )" What would I write there?

Questions:

1. Do I answer questions that do not apply with "n/a", "not applicable", or "none"? This is refering to questions say "if none, state none".

You answer questions that actually aren't applicable with N/A and those that are but where the answer is "none" you write "none". For instance if asked how many brothers and sisters you have, and you have none, answer "none". Then where it tells you to list their names, you can write N/A. This is because since you have none, their names aren't applicable.

2. Question #3- Husband lives in Jordan and he only has street name and city. He recieves mail at a subscribed mailbox and/or picks it up in Amman. What address is acceptable to write here?

Use the same mailing address you put on the petition and G325a.

3. How far in advance can I get employer letters? NVC just sent case to Jordan on January 18th. Haven't heard from Jordan yet.

Make them as recent as you can safely get them to Jordan before the interview.

4. Question #7- EMPLOYMENT- I have two jobs but there is only a place to add info for one. Where can I add the other jobs info?

You could use a separate sheet or just fit it in.

If income for you or the co-sponsor is sufficient, you can both just skip all asset related questions on the form. See the I-134 instructions.

To show evidence of income (Retirement,V.A, & Soc.Sec), we do not have all past years of tax transcripts because he did not have to file due to income level. Only 2007 due to sale of property in 2006. What types of documents and/or letters would he need to submit?7. Question #11- On example form they wrote "N/A ( K1 visa process for permanent residence )" What would I write there?

Surely the income is documented with income statements of some sort. Which year(s) did he file a tax return?

Thank you so much pushbrk.. I believe you've been one those who's helped me along since the beginning. Thanks for being such a blessing.

2. Question #3- Husband lives in Jordan and he only has street name and city. He recieves mail at a subscribed mailbox and/or picks it up in Amman. What address is acceptable to write here?

Use the same mailing address you put on the petition and G325a.

He moved since then & I updated info with NVC of his mailbox address. His residential address would be listed only as street, city and country. Maybe I could fit that in there somehow.

3. How far in advance can I get employer letters? NVC just sent case to Jordan on January 18th. Haven't heard from Jordan yet.

Make them as recent as you can safely get them to Jordan before the interview.

Can this be faxed to him? I would hate to have to these documents via fedex or dhl bc this is so expensive. I was going to send him a small package (approx 12oz) and I was quoted $120 dhl and $180 fedex. I dont mind paying that if I was sending all of the documents together..but Im taking them with me when I leave Feb.9th. I asked about express mail thru USPS but the guy told me it would be the same as first class (cost and time)

4. Question #7- EMPLOYMENT- I have two jobs but there is only a place to add info for one. Where can I add the other jobs info?

You could use a separate sheet or just fit it in.

I will try to do that and list it as (1) and (2)

If income for you or the co-sponsor is sufficient, you can both just skip all asset related questions on the form. See the I-134 instructions.

I will add assets and attach evidence to substantiate information that I provide. Shouldn't hurt to add this even if our combined income is sufficient.

To show evidence of income (Retirement,V.A, & Soc.Sec), we do not have all past years of tax transcripts because he did not have to file due to income level. Only 2007 due to sale of property in 2006. What types of documents and/or letters would he need to submit?7. I will add the documents to show source and amount of income for my dad also. He filed for 2006.. the few years prior to this they did not bc he said he didn't have to because they were exempt due to making less than ?? not sure of amount. They will file for 2007 and I will get whatever it is they have for that. Oh god.. the more Im working on this and Im thinking that Im gonna have to send tax & employer related documents to him later when Im back in the states again. Wish this stuff didnt tire me out so much :(

I strongly advise against providing asset information unless it is needed. Anything you provide is subject to verification.

Hi Pushbark

Are u saying that if the income requirements are met, the remaining questions on I-134 #7, regarding savings, personal property, life insurance, cash, real estate etc. can be left blank? (or N/A)The instructions for this form are rather vague to me! But then I am so ####### that I prefer the instructions where it goes step-by-step, number by number so I don't read more into it and I have no doubt what they are asking for!!!! :P

Also..it states "the sponser must submit in duplicate evidence of income and resources" So we need to send 2 copies of everything?

By the way...ur posts have been very helpful. Thanks for ur active participation on VJ!

Yes, simply leave them blank. Don't write N/A.

You would only count mom and dad in the household size if they are dependant on you for support or if you are using their income and yours to qualify. Otherwise, they fit in the picture as landlords only.

I may have confused you. On the I-134, you would treat your household as separate from your parents. That makes your household you, any dependants and the immigrant. Your parents' household is them, plus any dependants and the immigrant.

At AOS time, you can treat it as one household and combine incomes if you wish. This is facilitated by the I-864a. There is no I-134a.

ok then since im looking at my income as not reaching 125% level for 2 ppl (me and spouse) .. Then the I-134 my dad completes would be household of only 2 (he and my mom). What would they look at to qualify as 125% above poverty level? Sorry.. I guess Im confused now.

Your dad's household for this purpose would be mom, dad and your fiance. So they need income for three.

For AOS, the household is both couples so the household needs 124% for a household of 4.
