My fince's interview was yesterday..no strange questions and it only lasted a few min. However he said some others interviews were taking 20-30 min and they were being asked many questions. I think our case is a little unique considering we've been a couple for more than 12 years I lived in Japan for 15 years, so maybe they didn't need to ask him as many questions. They asked him when and how we met, what his plans are for when he moves to the USA and what kind of a wedding we're planning. He said they didn't really ask much else, wished him good luck and congratulations for a happy life together.

Hope this helps you :)

I agree..it's always better to be safe than sorry, but I don't really understand why they would want copies of the fiance's passport. Maybe it was different for you since you're already married? Or if it's needed due to lack of airline boarding passes for supplemental proof of seeing each other?

I don't know if 20-30 min is unusual or not, but some other's reviews I've read from Tokyo, stated that they were asked many questions. It just depends on the interviewer and what documents you have. Good luck :)

DMZOCT2005

Hi all, the NVC has our approved petition (yay!), and we're waiting for it to be sent to Tokyo. My fiancee called the embassy to ask some questions and they gave her a list of hospitals for the medical exam...all are either in Tokyo, Kobe, or Okinawa. My question is: Can she get her medical exam done the same day as the interview? ...she's a little far from Tokyo (Shizuoka) and it's expensive to ride the shinkansen there just for a medical exam. I think I read something about this somewhere on the site, but I can't find where anymore. Any help appreciated, thanks!
