My fiancée has TB. It is dormant and she has old xrays. she will also be going to her doctor in march for her normal physical and get new xrays done. our question is the sputum test. since she has several old xrays, and a doctors note saying there is no issue with the TB. will thats suffice, or will they make us wait while they do a sputum test? Has anyone with old TB scaring gone through this?

Well I know of a doctors office where I used to work that we had a girl that was going over for a college year in the US,she had to have a medical exam done with us.

We did a TB Test on her and it was positive,we sent her to have an xray of the lunge and it turned out to be that she had it as a child before.

It was no problem due to the fact of them being able to prove that it was an old TB.

Hope that might help at least a little bit.

Well the TB test doesn't really mean you have a TB.

The TB test result just tells you that your prone to having TB in the future..

I get that test every time I visit Public Health here in the US and they always give me pills to strengthen my lungs.. (according to the doctor)

Well even if she brings x-rays.. SLEC will still take their own copies.. Their not going to base their decision on the x-ray she submitted.. They will base their findings/result on the X-Ray they will take..

Well the TB test doesn't really mean you have a TB.

The TB test result just tells you that your prone to having TB in the future..

No it was positive on her due to the fact that she had it as a child before.

yeah better bring her old xrays just to make sure. Don't worry i feel she will be fine once she goes to st. lukes.. tell maribel to take care of herself while waiting for her papers..

dont worry if it is old TB and she is ok right now it wouldn't be a problem I had a friend that she has a TB before and now she is here in U.S.

Don't worry..its gonna be fine..Were both in the same medical issue..thats why i will have an early medical ,coz i had TB 11 years ago..scars is always there.. i will keep you posted...I will go tom for my medical my original sched is Mar 3... Just want to be sure atleast I still have a lot of time if ever they want me to have the sputum test that will takes 2 months for the results..Goodluck to us..
