Dec. Vermont Filers - Can you check online?

I have been calling USCIS since I got my NOA1 dated Dec. 13th. I have not been able to check my case status online.

I have seen filers here that have received thier NOA1 later than mine and were able to check immediately. With all of the horror stories of files being lost and forgot about for months - I am very worried.

Customer Service has sent emails to Vermont for me, but nothing has changed.

I emailed my lawyer and asked that she try to do something about it and really verify that it hasn't been lost!

Any other recent experiences with this or advice?

Thank you!

Have you signed up on the USCIS.gov website?

Go to the website.

Click on "Case Status Online" on the left.

Create a customer account

Then add your case number that is on your NOA1...it begins with EAC.

You can then check your case online.

Best of luck!!! :)

Thanks, but I have already done that. The receipt number fails. USCIS customer service has verified that it is correct, but it will not show up in the online system. They end up sending me to an agent who is able to view the number and tells me that they are backed up in entering them into the system.

I mentioned this website and that users such as yourself (a day off from me) are able to use the system. They sent an email to Vermont to let them know about the problem, but nothing has been done (either time I went through this process with Customer Service)

:(

Just checking.

I have no idea then. That's odd. Do you have a copy of your canceled check? Is the number on the back of that the same as the one on your NOA1?

I hope you get some answers soon!!!

This was posted on USCIS web site last week (Jan. 15th):

==========================================

http://www.uscis.gov/files/nativedocuments/15jan08_FAQs.pdf

Q : I received my receipt notice, but when I check my case online it does not appear. How do I get my case added to the system so I can check its progress?

USCIS had an unprecedented number of applications filed over the summer. Our efforts to enter these applications into our systems have caused a delay in the transfer of information from our case control system to the Case Status Online system. We are experiencing delays of up to 3 to 4 weeks between receipting your application and its status being available www.uscis.gov. If you have additional questions after your information is available on Case Status Online, please call the National Customer Service Center at 1-800-375-5283.

That's a really good idea. If the number on the back of your cancelled check is different you could try that number instead. Our online status was available the same day I got my NOA1 but I got mine in June. If nothing else just keep calling them, keep on them and something will get done. Hopefully they haven't lost your papers, I wouldn't jump to that conclusion just yet!
