After calling USCIS and asking them what is taking so long on mine and my daughters case, I received a letter in the mail that said this:

Based on your request we researched the status of this case. We are actively processing this case. However, we have to perform additional review on this case and this has caused a longer processing time. If you do not receive a decision or other notice of action from us within 6 months of this letter please call customer service at the number provided below.

This letter has really upset me because I have been waiting since I filed in May of 07 and haven't heard anything about this until now, and what is worse is that it can take another 6 months to even hear anything again. Should I just shut up and wait? Has anyone else gone through this?

Time to contact your Congressman and ask they to find out what is taking so long....

Yes definitely time to contact a congressman to inquire on your case. Normally a CSC transfer should not be sitting idle this long. Get the congressmen involved to either get more info, or to try to push the case along.

I will definitely contact my congressman and see what is going on, I don't feel that it's fair to keep me waiting so long when I have done everything that they asked of me. I have not done anything illegal in my life or done anything to hinder my case, it's upsetting that it could be 6 months before I would even hear of anything from them.
