AOS in New York City

Anyone else going through the AOS in NYC and know aproximate timelines?

Also 2.5 months ago we got a notice on I-485 most likley this was for biometrics but web site said letter was returned undeliverable. Tried unseccessfully 5 times, 3 phone calls 2 infopass to get letter resent but mailbox is empty. Biometrics are complete for EAD, don't know whats going on with AOS. Should we write our senator and ask for them to find out for us?

It's been a bit of a nightmare for us. H finally got his EAD this month (we applied last summer... and the card's exp date is this October) and we had an AOS interview date set for April 12, but then they cancelled and haven't sent a new date yet. I can't offer much advice, but you can PM me if you want to trade horror stories. Hang in there,

I am also going through AOS in New York, and I am about 1 month behind you (NOA1 Feb 18). If you get the latter for biometrics that will be nice, if not it is not a big deal. Even if you don't have it done by the time your interview comes around, officer doing your interview will set up an appointment for you that same day. So not having your AOS biometrics should not delay the process.

Thanks, I did read a few times on this board that there are people that will have biometrics completed day of interview, but they still sent a letter for it and i don't know or not if this holds up getting the interview and they are waiting on us.

W applied in mid July 2005, had already interview on March 23 in Garden City, and waiting fort the card, hopefuly will arrive this week. So it will be at least 9 months.

NOT true. My husband was denied for failure to show up for a fingerprint appointment (which we never received, but instead got a different one for a different day entirely and we had actually gone to the appointment) and we had to do a motion to reopen and go through hell to get our case reopened. So if you know there is a notice out there, get your congressman involved to get it to you!!!!!

No advice, sorry, just wanted to post my timeline.

NYC has been one of the slowest centres in the country. People in the past have posted about waiting up to 2 years or more.
