Hi everyone,

My ex husband just send me today the custody papers for my 2 children which NVC required in order to continue their immigration process

The problem is that he made this document on my maiden name...and not on my new family name (marriage name)..

Does anybody know if this is going to cause a problem...Any suggestion how i should proceed in this case?

Thank you for your help!

It should not cause any problem as long as you put your maiden name on "Others Names Used" section of I-130.

I-130 Timeline with USCIS:

It took 92 days for I-130 to get approved from the filing date

NVC Process of I-130:

It took 78 days to complete the NVC process

Interview Process at The U.S. Embassy

Interview took 223 days from the I-130 filing date. Immigrant Visa was issued right after the interview

No, it should not make a difference. That was your name at the time you signed those papers.

Life's just a crazy ride on a run away train

You can't go back for what you've missed

So make it count, hold on tight find a way to make it right

You only get one trip

So make it good, make it last 'cause it all flies by so fast

You only get one trip
