I am making this today....

Savory Sweet Crock Pot Chicken

Ingredients

4 bone-in chicken breast halves

1/2 cup water

1/2 cup packed brown sugar

1/2 cup ketchup

4 tablespoons white vinegar

4 tablespoons lemon juice

4 tablespoons Worcestershire sauce

1 small onion

1 tablespoon mustard

2 teaspoons paprika

2 teaspoons chili powder

1/2 teaspoon salt

1/8 teaspoon pepper

1.Put all ingredients except for chicken in crock pot and stir.

2. Add chicken and spoon sauce over chicken.

3.Cook on low for 6 1/2 hours.

That sounds good- I will try this recipe on Thursday.

it was pretty good.... i would reduce the vinegar a tad next time I make it though... and i am not a big paprika fan so I only added a dash or two of it... and the sauce was good over the rice.. it is a runny sauce so if you like a thicker sauce you might want to thicken it after you cook the chicken...

Well, we are in St Louis and we had Hardees! We get to the hotel and I am starving, so we find this nice menu and delivery service in the drawer and I call them and they say it will take about an hour and a half for delivery - so we drive up the street and grab a sandwich - which was ok.

You're in St. Louis and you haven't called? :crying: Hope you enjoy your brief stay with us! Safe continued travels.

The pork last night was kind of dry! Personally I think my "low" on my slow cooker is too high. Tonight we're going to eat ballpark food!!

LOL. When I read she was in St Louis I thought.... "Doesn't Carla live there?" I hope she calls, Carla! That would be so cool. She could get a real coffee from you instead of a virtual coffee! LOL

The low on my slow cooker is too high also. Note to manufacturer: Food does not bubble on low, thank you very much. Thank goodness there's a "warm" setting.

The painters will be doing the kitchen, living room and dining room today, so I'm pretty much thinking takeout. Or dinner out. Maybe the local Mexican. My husband likes Mexican food. I'm not crazy about it but I can probably find something on the menu so he can get his fix.

Would have loved to have called you Carla and had coffee, but I don't think I am really very good company at the moment, tad over tired :hehe:

You will need to come to Florida and have coffee with us!

Can we all come to Florida trailmix?? :)

Anyway, dinner tonight. I think we're roasting a whole chicken with potatoes, onions and carrots. My husband likes to add that Lipton onion soup mix, and it's very savory. Served with a salad: lettuce, strawberries, red onion, peanuts and cheese with balsamic vinaigrette.

I'm so excited about spring-hello fresh veggies!!

yeah pineapple would work good with it

and yeah my crock pot is messed up too.. I thought it was just my crock pot.. like the chicken I made yesterday.. I set it on low for 8 hours because I know it will be done in half that time but the chicken was done in about 3 hours :o

If it wasn't snowing and I had more time, I might have actually made the same thing tonight. Right now I have no clue, I'm still full from lunch...

ok i found this recipe.. of course I am going to jazz it up a little, it is a little too plain...

Eggless Meatloaf

1 pound ground beef

3/4 cup cooked rice

1 tablespoon brown sugar

3/4 cup chopped onion

1 tablespoon ketchup

1/2 cup ketchup

--------------------------------------...

DIRECTIONS:

Preheat oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C).

In a large bowl, combine the beef, rice, brown sugar, onion and 1 tablespoon ketchup. Mix well and place in a 5x9 inch loaf pan.

Bake at 350 degrees F (175 degrees C) for 30 minutes. Spread remaining 1/2 cup ketchup over the top of the loaf. Bake for 15 more minutes.

Going to warm up the slow cooker pork I have and hope that I can tenderize it some more. We'll have pulled pork sandwiches I think. I'm trying to clean out my fridge because we'll be away for 10 days or so, so I don't want to be looking at anything moldy when I get back!
