That always won out for me too when I was a kid. Though as an adult I rarely ever eat there, and we have one down the road, but as a kid, it definatly was above seafood and steak...

it always won with me too!...we rarely eat fast food, unless its somewhere like Subway...I do like that McDonalds does offer other choices now for kids with their Happy Meals, besides soda and fries..

Well, I thought I would be ordering room service at a hotel in Chicago, but due to weather, my flight has canceled. I'm not even going to bother attempting another flight tonight... I'm booked on a 6am departure in the morning.

So, I guess I'm having pizza ;-)

Husband had to go in to the old office today, plus the book store (I got 4 new books - which includes a trilogy yahooo!) and staples (got an automatic coin sorter, oh btw when you move you have to get the can of coins packaged haha) and on the way home he picked up Edo for me - which was great!

Soo a little later on I think we will have a grilled cheese.

Just sorted through a whole tote of photo albums, ditched the albums and basically got it down to 1 album and one very small bag of photos! (this is in addition to my other tote of photos :hehe: )

Made a ham, zucchini and red pepper quiche; served it with a side salad, some homemade caraway rye bread (I love my bread machine!), and mixed blueberries and strawberries for dessert.

“...Isn't it splendid to think of all the things there are to find out about? It just makes me feel glad to be alive--it's such an interesting world. It wouldn't be half so interesting if we knew all about everything, would it? There'd be no scope for imagination then, would there?”

Yummy artichoke.spiniach burgers from costco and home fries!!! and maybe a rum/coke!!

Canadians Visiting the USA while undergoing the visa process, my free advice:

1) Always tell the TRUTH. never lie to the POE officer

2) Be confident in ur replies

3) keep ur response short and to the point, don't tell ur life story!!

4) look the POE officer in the eye when speaking to them. They are looking for people lieing and have been trained to find them!

5) Pack light! No job resumes with you

6) Bring ties to Canada (letter from employer when ur expected back at work, lease, etc etc)

7) Always be polite, being rude isn't going to get ya anywhere, and could make things worse!!

8) Have a plan in case u do get denied (be polite) It wont harm ur visa application if ur denied, that is if ur polite and didn't lie! Refer to #1

Fog, freezing rain, who knows? It's Chicago. Flights were/are all backed up....

Tonight, I get to have airport food, assuming I'm really coming back on tonight's flight. Gotta get there first.

dinner was yummo last night... I made this...

Crock Pot Garlic Brown Sugar Chicken

1 large chicken, cut into serving pieces

1 cup packed brown sugar

2/3 cup vinegar (i reduced the vinegar to 1/4 cup, 2/3 cup of vinegar sounded like too much to me)

1/4 cup Sprite or 7-Up soda

2-3 tablespoons minced garlic

2 tablespoons soy sauce

1 teaspoon pepper(regular black or cayenne)

1. Place chicken in crock pot.

2. Mix all remaining ingredients and pour over chicken.

3. Cook on low for 6-8 hours.

4. Serve over rice or noodles.

5. You can thicken the juices after cooking with a little cornstarch.

*... I just used 4 chicken drumsticks and there was barely enough sauce... if you are going to use a whole chicken you might want to double the sauce....

We had spinach ricotta shells last night in marinara sauce. Crusty chibatta buns as well.

I'm gone all day to volunteer training, so I might just pick up a roasted chicken at the grocery, and make a chicken ceasar salad tonight.

Marilyn, the chicken recipe looks good. Would be good over some ramen noodles.
