ok, we ended up with Joe having the left over chicken pot pie from last night's dinner and I made a zucchini, pepper and onion omelette for me.

“...Isn't it splendid to think of all the things there are to find out about? It just makes me feel glad to be alive--it's such an interesting world. It wouldn't be half so interesting if we knew all about everything, would it? There'd be no scope for imagination then, would there?”

Just back from Canada. Ate lunch at the zoo yesterday .... nothing special. For dinner last night, hubby and I shared poutine, a smoked meat sandwich and a gyro. Very yummy!!! Had Timbits this morning and then had sushi for lunch. I was in heaven, as the closest sushi place to where we live is about an hour away or so. Hubby stocked up on ketchup chips and all dressed chips and was ecstatic to find his favorite brand, Old Dutch. Sadly, I could not find winegums anywhere :( Are they not popular in Quebec? I thought I had bought some there before, but now that I think about it, we might have actually been in Montreal (as opposed to the small towns in the Eastern Townships that we visited this trip).

I usually find winegums even in gas stations, like Esso! They always have those packs of candy, including wine gums. Mmmm Old Dutch!

But did you have fun autumn?

Because of all the burger talk, we ended up having steak and shake, I had a hamburger, some salad and a couple of onion rings, Mike had the fries! It was really quite good.

Yummeh, :lol: I don't feel good today, I had too much to drink last night at the wedding we went to. At 2 in the morning a bunch of us walked to Wawa and I had mozzarella sticks and other assorted junk food, I don't think I'll eat today.

You're in Northern Ontario? :unsure::lol:

I had very low expectations on the Steak 'n Shake, and was very pleasantly surprised! LOL

Last night we had the seafood alfredo. Tonight we are having shepherd's pie with either green beans or peas.

no clue - I need to head back to Weight Watchers and start eating like a smart person - making a health WW-friendly dinner for people is more difficult then throwning a quick boca burger on the BBQ for myself and a salad. I can get away with a light dinner but my husband is the opposite- he ate most of his point toward the evening whereas I spread them out.

I hate being a fat person, no matetr what I do...it creeps back- ok, I'm not fat, but I could be lighter!

I made Jambalaya with shrimp and it was wicked. So much so that I ate all of the leftovers last night, and had to go to the store to get more for lunch today.

We are having pork chops, it does annoy me that it's too hot to bbq though, so I have to cook in the house! Think we will just have bread and beans with that, since I just made bread.

I know! I'm shaking my head wondering what I was thinking baking a shepherd's pie in the oven. :blink: Mmmmmm. Homemade bread. I just bought some dried navy beans last night. I'm going to try the recipe on the back for the baked beans. Or maybe I'll use the Grandma's Recipes book I have from Canada. Thought I'd make those with smoked ribs one day. Yum.

Oh! And my air conditioning hasn't shut off since I walked in the door an hour ago! :o

Oh wait. It just shut off. :lol:

Ours does not shut off ever! I have it set at 71 though, but I don't think it ever reaches that, except maybe in the middle of the night - it states it's 79 degrees in here right now, not sure how accurate that is.
