Broccoli, grapes and bacon - now that is an interesting salad. I don't eat broccoli, even though I like it, but I really like the idea of grapes in a salad.

baby spinach, strawberries & grapes (seedless).. makes a YUMMY salad when you put poppy seed dressing on it.. yummy

Joe's cooking tonight - he has his pot of beans with ham and will be making homemade hashbrowns and carmelized onions to go with it. We'll probably be eating it all week - he doesn't have a concept of 'cooking for 2' and thinks he has to cook the whole package of beans at once. :P

I'm in to this dressing I get from Bealls Florida - it is basically a poppyseed dressing (and no HFCS haha).

Well, at around 9 o'clock last night we went to McDonalds. This is somewhat unusual - well I guess about once a year it isn't

I decided to try the Big Mac and fries. It's different than Canada, the sauce in the Canadian burgers, I think, has a little kick to it, here - it doesn't. But that's ok - it was alright.

Well, Joe had beans and the last of the potato pancakes for lunch and I picked up some barbeque chicken to have with the beans for dinner - along with corn on the cob, and I'll make a potato salad.

Last night we went to Sushi Katana for dinner. They've started a Monday-Friday Happy "Hour" where you get $2 off a glass of wine and all rolls. I put "hour" in quotation marks because it's actually from 5-7pm. I love that Happy Hour is hours long.

Tonight we are having beef stew with fresh baked "biscuits". I always laugh at that because, to me, biscuits are cookies and scones are biscuits. Funny world.

Broccoli, grapes and bacon - now that is an interesting salad. I don't eat broccoli, even though I like it, but I really like the idea of grapes in a salad.

Mmmmm. And crumbled blue cheese. And sometimes pine nuts or pecans. And thinly sliced red onions which have been soaked for a bit in a sugar and cider vinegar and water solution. With raspberry vinaigrette. I think I'll make that tomorrow.

oh and we went to Coldstone for my free ice cream for my Birthday.. I got banana ice cream with strawberries mixed in and the hubby got vanilla bean ice cream with kit kats mixed in...

OMG. It may have been the nightmares I've been having over the past couple of days, but I just read that as "vanilla bean ice cream with rats mixed in". :o

Sounds like it'll be the dreaded baked salmon that I shoved in the back of the freezer and tried to forget about, along with a mixed salad or maybe some low-carb pasta. For Mr. Man, I'm thinking lasagna.

Not sure what we are having tonight. Hubby is sick and throwing up, so I just need food for me and the bambino. I might stop at the store and pick up a roast chicken and then have steamed veggies. I was visiting family in CT this weekend and ate like a pig!!!

My father trades morel mushrooms for meals at this amazing restaurant, so we went there on Saturday. Here is a link:

http://www.good-news-cafe.com/menu/dinner/

Hubby had the lobster soup, Jack's pecan crusted oysters, and elk (that was on the specials of the day menu). I had the grilled asparagus salad, flash-fired spiced beef, and wok seared shrimp. It was so deliciously yummy and a special treat. We also had a nice merlot.

On Sunday, we went to dinner to celebrate my mom's birthday and I had bbq pulled pork and ribs.
