What's For Dinner?

I made a cubed pork, onion and pepper stir fry last night. I always remember my Mom doing that with leftover roast beef, or pork. You fry it up with the onions and peppers...oh yes, I put mushrooms in it too, and you fry it up until it's really crispy. Mmmm Then we had a broccoli rice casserole. That was very good as well. So, I'm out of leftovers now, and have to decide what to make. I'm leaning towards turkey burgers. With sweet potato fries? I'm going to have to think on this....

Attempted poutine last night....

The fries were too salty

I made the sauce too thick (first try) and it was too salty as well

I didn't have cheese curds so I used Muenster cheese.....

It was ok and hit the spot since I haven't had a poutine in a year....but hubby had a trouble digesting it...

Is that like a tupperware party? I avoid going to those, I always feel pressure to buy something too.

I actually want to make BBQ hamburgers tonight however I don't know that I have enough flour to make buns. I'm going to wait and see if the rain stays away for a bit. It just stopped raining here a couple of hours ago.

I know you make your own buns...I'd like your recipe...if you could post it, or email it to me. Who's the griller? You or Mike?

Well I am, only because I am usually making dinner while he is on his way home from work. Funny thing is, I never used to BBQ - just would not. However since moving here it's like...if I can't BBQ it i'm not cooking lol. I would really like an outdoor kitchen.

Anyhoo, here is the recipe I use. The thing about this dough is that it is going to be sticky - and that's good - it gives it that soft crust. I actually use this recipe for bread now, as well, as it is like 'real' bread as opposed to some recipes that have that tough crust.

This makes 2-3 buns, so I double it for bread.

1/3 cup milk

3 tbsp Water

1 tbsp and 1 tsp Butter

1 1/2 cups bread flour

1 tbsp quick yeast

2 Tsp Sugar

1/2 Tsp Salt

1 egg

I mix this in my bread maker then when that is done rising I form it and let it rise again for about 25 minutes then bake it at 350 for 20-25 mins.
