If you have another stop in Toronto, there is a bar not too far that serves champagne :)

We do stop there, but I'm not sure for how long. I don't even know if change trains or not. We didn't coming, so, who knows. But, if we have time, that is definitely a good idea!

Otherwise you can celebrate all you want when you're back in London if you stay there!

Menu : home made baked ziti and champagne :)

Definately decided I am making burritos - I don't know that I have ever made them before.

So it will be rice, pork (which is slow cooking now) peppers and onions and I am making my own tortillas using this recipe I found

2 cups of white flour

1 1/2 tsp. baking powder

1 tsp. salt

2 tsp. vegetable oil

3/4 cup warm water

pizza, mmmmmmmmmmmmm

Canadians Visiting the USA while undergoing the visa process, my free advice:

1) Always tell the TRUTH. never lie to the POE officer

2) Be confident in ur replies

3) keep ur response short and to the point, don't tell ur life story!!

4) look the POE officer in the eye when speaking to them. They are looking for people lieing and have been trained to find them!

5) Pack light! No job resumes with you

6) Bring ties to Canada (letter from employer when ur expected back at work, lease, etc etc)

7) Always be polite, being rude isn't going to get ya anywhere, and could make things worse!!

8) Have a plan in case u do get denied (be polite) It wont harm ur visa application if ur denied, that is if ur polite and didn't lie! Refer to #1

ham, onion and cheese quiche with vegetables on the side. Had my teeth 'deep cleaned' (full abradement) today and am under orders for soft, non-sticky foods, hehehe.

“...Isn't it splendid to think of all the things there are to find out about? It just makes me feel glad to be alive--it's such an interesting world. It wouldn't be half so interesting if we knew all about everything, would it? There'd be no scope for imagination then, would there?”

Gonna be burritos or tacos tonight. Only thing Mel will let me cook is mexican food, and the only reason I convinced her is because there is no real mexican food in London. Gonna use this meat spice that is usually for carne asada, but will work with chicken or ground beef. You know it's a good seasoning, they dont' speak english in the store I bought it at

my fav was

water piglet roll: rare-fried tuna, goat cheese & cranberries

I love sushi but that gave me a  moment.

Of course! I got this from recipezaar, and it was REALLY good! To note, I didn't want many leftovers so I cut the recipe in half since it was just 2 of us:

That sounds yummy! I'm going to make that sometime. :)

How did your burritos turn out, Trailmix? We're having butter chicken this evening so I'm thinking of making my own naan bread.

I live off of a golf course and they're having a happy hour tonight for everyone in the neighborhood at the Clubhouse. We're thinking of going over there... I like food and beer.

We live on a golf course too! Except we haven't been to one of the happy hours yet.... which are called social hours here. LOL. Gotta love their prices though. When my parents were visiting we went every Monday for the $4 pitcher of beer.... and that included unlimited chips and pretzels. They also have some great parties there, sponsored by this one guy in the community. He's famous for them. Last party they had a drive-in theatre night where they lined up all the golf carts in front of a huge outdoor movie screen. $10 got you the movie and unlimited beer and pizza. Can't beat that for a great night out.

The tortillas were - umm garbage, literally.

Luckily I had one packaged tortilla so I threw half on each plate - with the other stuff - voila dinner.

Then again, I also forgot to cook the rice, maybe it was just a bad cooking night haha.

Aww you should go!! I bet they're fun!

The golf course I work at does those drive in movies once a year... its such a great idea. I haven't heard of the golf course I live on doing that though yet, if they did I'd probably go.
