We're having Glen's bro and pops over for dinner and to watch the game, so I asked them what they wanted to eat and they said "something Canadian" so I'm making poutine!! Homeade fries, beef gravy, and cheese curds from Wegman's!! Wings to go along with it. And for me, I made a delicious pot of vegetarian chili!! It's spicy and healthy. Glen just tried it and said "are you sure there is no meat in this?"

*drives over to Jills for Poutine* :P

Donne moi une poptart!

Have company tonight so made a good company meal- ratatouille with broad egg noodles. Cooked onions, garlic, celery, eggplant, summer squash, zucchini, red peppers, yellow pepper, tomatoes and lots of good Italian spices and simmer together for an hour, then add in cooked chicken last 15 minutes, serve over noodles - yum! Added fresh caraway rye bread as well. Joe gets left overs for lunch tomorrow.

“...Isn't it splendid to think of all the things there are to find out about? It just makes me feel glad to be alive--it's such an interesting world. It wouldn't be half so interesting if we knew all about everything, would it? There'd be no scope for imagination then, would there?”

I am making Asian Chicken Wings.. you coat the wings in flour and fry them until golden brown and then put in baking dish and pour this sauce consisting of soy sauce, water, white sugar, vinegar and a dash of salt over them and then bake for about 30 minutes , basting the wings at least once as they bake

I just realized I forgot a step.. I was supposed to dip the wings in beaten egg before the flour ... oops.. they still look like they came out ok though..

So yesterday we had the big Superbowl spread. Homemade buffalo chicken wings, potato skins, poppers, carrot and celery sticks with bluecheese dip, and a Mexican layered dip with tostitos. I have saved the chili for this evening's meal.

We had pizza from pizza hut, their 'new' whole grain all natural ingredients pizza. It was actually pretty darn good.

We still haven't gone to get groceries  I have a pretty big shopping list now!

You can have some of mine! I went a little overboard buying groceries on Saturday, not thinking too much about the fact that I won't be here next week. We have a lot of fruit and veg to get through now.

They can genetically engineer most fruits and vegetables BUT WHEN ARE THEY GOING TO MAKE A TEARLESS ONION!??? :crying:

It's funny how some people are sensitive to it and some aren't - they don't bother me at all, i've probably only ever come across 2 onions that kind of made my eyes water.

So tonight, due to the lack of groceries and the fact that krikit didn't deliver any, we will be having steak, bbqed in the rain, canned beets and baking powder biscuits

Mike is going to the store on his way home
