mmmm the turkey burgers were good.. I actually prefer them now to regular ground beef frozen patties....

and of course they are a million times healthier then the beef patties.. I think one frozen beef patty has about 300 calories :o and a turkey patty has about 160 calories

I'm on the board of a non-profit organization that currently runs an after-school program for kids in a neglected area of town. We hosted a Thanksgiving dinner for them and their families tonight and on the menu was: smoked turkey, mashed potatoes, corn, green beans, gravy, and dessert. The kids made the bread and butter from scratch -- they did a great job! :)

Kudo's to your group Cassie! Lovely idea!

I made that chicken and stuffing casserole, I think it was BH who posted it. Tres yummy. And hubby and I ate raw carrots with it just so I could tell Carla I had a vegetable :P

B) smart butt!

I love turkey burgers Marilyn, and I agree they're better than beef patties. Although I did get 98% lean ground beef the last time I was shopping and much preferred that to the 70/30 I usually buy. It's more expensive, but if I don't use it as often as I do the turkey, then I'd rather spend more and have it be tastier and healthier. I always experiment with the turkey burger though, because sometimes there is not too much taste. I think the key is spices before cooking.

Last night we had angel hair pasta, with homemade marinara sauce. Very yummy. Tonight is clean out the fridge night as we're away for 5 days, so it'll be a mix-match of things that I'll heat up and throw together. Sometimes they're the best meals!

We had cheese quesadillas (basically salsa and cheese in a tortilla wrap heated in the frying pan)

Haven't made them for a long time and they really are very very good. Had a salad to go with it.

So I was laying in bed last night thinking....I would really like a bacon sandwich  - so that is what is for dinner tonight, bacon sandwiches and salad.

the turkey burgers I buy are already seasoned but I do sprinkle them with salt, pepper and garlic powder before cooking them.... I actually like the taste of them better then the frozen beef patties but then again I usually bought the cheapest ones... but the turkey burgers I buy are even cheaper then the beef patties I used to buy.. I think I buy Jenni-O turkey burgers...

left over baked chicken, green and yellow beans, and noodles alfredo with fresh blackberries for dessert!

“...Isn't it splendid to think of all the things there are to find out about? It just makes me feel glad to be alive--it's such an interesting world. It wouldn't be half so interesting if we knew all about everything, would it? There'd be no scope for imagination then, would there?”

Tonight's dinner is pork tenderloin sliced thin and has been marinating overnight in a soy sauce, sugar and garlic marinade (got the recipe from the Sweet Potato Queens cookbook and it looked interesting so thought I would try it). We'll probably have noodles and some kind of veggie too.
