I would have eaten any egg roll, even a porn one

My dinner was lousy. I had no energy to cook and hubby was not hungry so even less motivated than me ... so I ate a cereal bar and drank a beer. Not at all satisfying :(

There should be a prize here for the worst dinner or something!

Tonight we're gonna skip anything chinese () and I am gonna try making a quiche with some potato pancakes.

I have to also make a dessert this week for thanksgiving at the inlaws, was thinking about making a rasberry chocolate truffle cake. Mmmm. Delish.

Mags will be at work, so I'm either going to make some of "Platy's Hotter'n Hell Wyoming Chili" or use my free pizza coupon from Papa John's. Don't know which yet.

Lady, people aren't chocolates. Do you know what they are mostly? Bastards. ####### coated bastards with ####### filling. But I don't find them half as annoying as I find naive bobble-headed optimists who walk around vomiting sunshine.

My Husband BBQed hamburgers and we had a tad of potato salad and A LOT of asparagus. I wanted to eat it all as the last 2 times I bought it it went off before we got to it.

So I went out and got Chinese food, and as always ordered egg rolls to go along with the meal.

Well look what kind of egg rolls they're handing out these days! I couldn't stop laughing!

 Wow. Chicken ball eggroll. I think they may be onto something here.

In all the excitement I forgot to tell you what I had for dinner last night!

We decided to stop by a British pub we'd been driving by for the past two years instead of saying "We should go in there," then driving on by. It was almost like a real British pub and almost had real fish and chips with mushy peas. (It wasn't horrible, but let's just say I should have had the curry-of-the-day.) But it was nice to hear the British voices and watch the World Cup on the telly. And I laughed when the menu listed HP sauce and British bread for sale. Oh! And when the waitress had to show my mushy peas to another patron so they could see what the were. They even had real British bacon* butties! (*when available). I'll probably take my parents there so my Dad can watch his footie when they're here.

Tonight we are having pork chops on the barbie, butternut squash, broccoli, and maybe a sweet potato. But I'm thinking I may not do a potato because that's a lot of food. LOL

I am gonna scan it in and then post it krikit much easier than typing it all! :P

Tonight we're making homemade fettucini alfredo. I really don't enjoy making my own pasta because its really messy and I always end up cleaning up, but the husband insists on trying to make everything we can from scratch.

I'm not sure what's for dinner tonight, I was just thinking about that. I think I would just like something normal - so will prob be a meat and potatoes or rice night.

Krikit, where is this pub you speak of?

well, we're going out for lunch today at one of our favourite restaurants - an Indian buffet called Swapma in North Atlanta (then going to the Opera afterwards to see Rossini's Cinderella) so I think dinner tonight might be similar to those infamous cereal bars! This restaurant is so good and we always overeat because everything is great- and we are usually some of the very few non-Indian patrons with everyone else being Indian so that is a good indication of how good this restaurant is.

The fettucini turned out AMAZING! The pasta was PERFECT!

However, I am lactose intolerant, and ran out of lactaid and decided that I could take on the meal without it. Yea thats parmesan cheese, and heavy cream. I AM DYING OVER HERE!

The meal itself was just realllllly rich, I feel like I should be out there running a marathon after eating it.

Now we're using the espresso maker thing we got at our wedding shower last year. Its been sitting in our cupboard collecting dust and we finally bought some illy coffee this past weekend to make espresso with. :D

Yep - seriously stuffed here. I don't think we are having dinner at all tonight - and I might skip breakfast and lunch tomorrow, too. The food was excellent and the Opera was great!
