Went for our infopass appointment today to find out if they could shed some light on why we have not rec'd the greencard after nearly waiting a year now. The immigration officer that we spoke with was on the computer for awhile making strange faces then he proceeds to tell us that our case is still pending in Texas. The thing that does not make any sense is we have rec'd two notices stating our case was transferred to California. So, we ask him where the file is Texas or California? He then states that it is still pending in Texas because our case had not been consolidated until a few days ago. At this point we have no idea what he is talking about. He states that the case should move forward now that it has been consolidated. He then pauses and takes another look at the computer and states he is just going to request our file, because obvously there is some reason why it has not been approved yet. Long story short, I guess our file has just been sitting in Texas for the past year gathering dust. At least now, we have an Immigration officer taking the time to request our file, devliver it to Tampa and get our interview scheduled. We were under the impression we would not need an interview because the case was transferred to California, little did we know it was never sent. So, now we have to wait 30 days for the file to get to Tampa, then the Immigration office will call us if a decision had been made while it sat in Texas, and if not, then we have to wait 90 days for an interview. I guess the good thing is it won't be sitting in Texas any longer.

hmmmm that sounds all too familiar! if you don't hear back from them- keep investigating if it's really in Texas (they told me at my Infopass that my case was in Missouri and apparently denied, when my online status stated that it was with csc) It turned out that everything they told me at the Infopass was bs.

got my GC approved 6 days after I went to my local congressmans office and had them request an explanation of my status.

At least that Immigration officer you dealt with seems nice and helpful, good luck to you with your case!!
