Our heads are spinning, but we'll get through this.

Yes you will. (F) There are worse things in life than finding out you have a beautiful little son, stepson, and stepbrother for your child. That must have been a difficult discussion to have with your husband. You're a good person, Tracy. I wish you all the best. (F)

Thanks, Krikit. My husband is a good person, too, and that's why I know we'll be ok. He's stunned and shaken up, but I trust he'll be careful about this.

We're a strong family. All we can hope for now is that the ex will be civil and rational so that we can take care of this appropriately.

in life, things like this happen.

Peace to All creatures great and small............................................

But when we turn to the Hebrew literature, we do not find such jokes about the donkey. Rather the animal is known for its strength and its loyalty to its master (Genesis 49:14; Numbers 22:30).

On a note that makes me smile, it is nice to see the bonds that develop in a place like VJ.

On a serious note, I am glad you guys are strong in your relationship and that trust is a great foundation. This type of news would be difficult at anytime but add being pregnant to the equation and yes I can see your reason for your original "stress post". I would have freaked out in much a similar fashion at first mention of it. But as a removed party it is easy to say that you guys will be fine. I sincerely wish you the best, remember to take care of you and your little one, don't stress too much! Together you and your husband will deal with this and no doubt other things life hurls out. Take care!!!

I received a call today from my husband's nephew in Lima. He told me that he ran into my husband's ex-girldfriend and that she had a small child with her. He was very surprised to see her, especially with a child, because the last anyone had heard, she had moved to Spain (in 2005) to have an abortion. This nephew didn't know what to do, so he thought it was best to call me first.

Prior to my husband and I meeting in late 2005, he had apparently knocked this girl up. He told her he didn't want to be with her, but that he would gladly take care of his child. She freaked out and left the country. Again, he was told that she had had an abortion. This devastated him, but he moved on. I knew all this story from day one of meeting my husband, so there were no secrets.

Fast forward 2 1/2 years...now he and I have been married for 2 years and are expecting our first child together in April. He has no idea that I've been told this information. And I have no idea what to do with this information. I FEEL LIKE I'VE BEEN HIT WITH A TON OF BRICKS.

Should I tell him about this phone call and devastate him even further for something that may or may not even be valid? Or should I try to get more information? Or should I just leave it alone?

I believe that if this girl wants him to know, she should tell him herself.

I HATE DRAMA. THIS SUCKS.

OMG,this has to be the suckiest drama around.I can feel for you here. You should definitely tell him about it.Also find out if it's valid because it may just be a sorry attempt for this girl to get his attention.

Luis will be in Lima for the next 2 weeks attempting to find resolution/peace with this situation. The mother of the child has been nothing but gracious. She wasn't seeking anything from my husband. There are no hard feelings there. Her intentions were quite honorable.

There will be DNA testing performed next week. Given that the child is biologically my husband's -- and we have very little doubt that he is -- Luis will do all he can under these circumstances to make certain that the child knows who his father is, that he was never abandoned, and that he knows his father is always available.

It is what it is. Luis and I have a family here and we are very happy. The boy will live in Peru and that won't change any time soon. But we'll do what we can to do what's right.
