From the Washington Post 1/18/08. The USCIS recieved 3 million applications for naturalization in 2006. The USCIS annouced it will take 18 months to process applications filed after 6/1/2007. The USCIS director Gonzalez said it has hired 274 new adjudicators. It has identified 469 retired adudictors it has perrmission to re hire. "Our 2 year response plan will help us accomplish reducing processing times to 6 months by the third quarter of Fiscal 2010, which ends June 30,"Gonzales said in his written testimony.

Dose this give confidence to anyone? It sure dose not for me.As it will be 2 years since i applied k-1 in March of this year.

Not really do the math,I am not confident because who is to say when and or if they will replace the retired people.Too many papers and not enough paper pushers. I could see if he was saying by the end of 2008 heck mid 2009 but 2010 that is not very promising

Yes i agree and the more inportant fact is that the process is broken. I'm not sure how much help extra people will bring when it is the process itself that is wrong. These cases go through multiple hands and agencies. It hard to even find out where the actual case physically is. If it's in security it could be with any number of agencies. If in A/P God only knows where it is.! It 's outrages that we are treated in this fashion.

It would be nice to have a link to the source story and this is something that has an impact on all at VJ, not just MENA. MOD's please move.........

What's a MOD ? And I'm sorry but I'm not computer savy enough to send a link. But if you look up the Washington Post for that day maybe you could.

2010??????????

And to think we had a chance!!!!!

Well, Deb, all I can say is if we don't hear anything by 2010, at least we know we will have a retired adjucator on our case. Sounds promising, doesn't it?

Chins up.

Sue
