You don't need your passport. You only have to prove your citizenship; in the 129 instructions it says to send in your naturalization certificate OR all pages of your passport.

However...if you haven't taken your oath yet, you should definately wait I think to send out the packet until you're a full blown citizen. Make sure all the paperwork and confirmations and whatever you have to go through is done before you send it.

And if you have an old passport from your old country or something that has stamps showing you've visited your fiance, then you can send copies of that in, since it's proof of being together.

Summer 2001 - met my Scottish boy

December 18th, 2007 - proposal in Madrid's Botanical Gardens with a duck standing behind him going 'food?'

January 18th, 2008 - I-129F sent to VSC

January 31st, 2008 - received NOA1, issued Jan. 24 :)

February 24th, 2008 - NOA2; omgwtfbbqlolz

February 29th, 2008 - NVC letter sent

You will need primary evidence to prove that you and your fiancee met at least once w/in the last two years of filing....so if you didn't use your US passport to travel, you will need to send a copy of whatever passport or travel documents you used to go and visit your fiancee. If she came to see you, the same applies, you will need copies of her passport showing where she entered the US to visit you.

If you have everything you need, then there is no reason why you cannot submit your application the day after your naturalization oath. You are then a US citizen, thus satisfying that portion of the requirement to file. Congratulations in advance! :)

Good luck,

-P

If I have everything I need, can I submit it the day after my Oath taking?

If you have everything you need, then I would presume you can submit it however long it takes you to walk to a mail box on that same day....

YMMV
