Speaking of pea soup I found a nice yummy recipie for it but now I can't seem to find yellow split peas so far.

I did however find katchup chips this week at walmart they aren't as good as the ones back home but after a year without them it will do. They are made by Herr's I found them with the Seasonal food and stuff so I guess they wont be here long.

Danielle

I've tried the Herrs ketchup chips too, they're hard to find.... I think they're Herr's Heinz correct? Anyway, you're right they are definitely not as good as Lay's ketchup!!

mmmm lays ketchup chips are the best ketchup chips..

I used to like Old Dutch Ketchup chips but they aren't as ketchupy now...

I really miss all dressed chips...

Well - you have seen the obesity epidemic down here, right? some how I am not surprised. Of course you can't make a blanket statement that ALL americans eat unhealthy, but you can see what's available to choose from :)

The whiter the bread, the sooner you're dead - I have no idea where I heard this when I was little, but it has stuck with ever since

 that's funny!! I should show my husband to be...

I really didn't think to take a picture. But let me tell you I was shocked! Lots of different company names for bread..and amazing how often the word "white" was on them. Not sure if I should mention names...but I don't think there is a Costco where I'll be living. An oinky store..( if any one knows that one) and a couple others. I'm so used to Safeway!! Kinda the opposite of what I'm used to. I think it's going to take a while to find my way around these new stores. When I did finally discover whole wheat/whole grain bread, I gave one to Tim and said.."see how HEAVY that is? So full of nutrition!"

And yes, I agree. Not all Americans eat unhealthy. However Tim is kinda up there with those that do.. It's ok...he's going to get a wife now.....

Arnold's wheat bread is delicious and has no HFCS! It's the only brand I'll buy here, besides Trader Joe's of course.

Come to think of it, I haven't seen any, either. See if you can find an organic grocer or Indian grocer. They'll probably have them.

Ugh! The bread! :bonk: I cannot STAND the bread here. It is so sweet. icon8.gif And full of The Evil. Although some breads are now advertising no HFCS, so that's a start. The best bread I had found was Arnold Natural Wheat Original Brownberry Recipe. Unfortunately, the local Walmart has stopped stocking it. I guess I was the only customer.

Oh! And I saw J-cloths somewhere! Unfortunately I can't remember where.

I had a sandwich with that yesterday. Only I find it too sweet. :( Nothing like a cheese and sugar sandwich. Yum.

My Sister is always finding stuff she uses being discontinued. She drinks MJB coffee - she did in Canada and originally had to order it online - then it appeared at her Walmart - so she bought it there.

Went to buy it last week - they no longer stock it.

Yeah, I find the same.... that they stop stocking items. I've never seen anything like it. I've finally given up on my quest to find Windex No Drip. (I go through a lot of Windex. LOL) The local K-Mart used to be the only ones who stocked it. I wish they'd give people warnings before they do this so I could buy out their stock. At least my wine lady does that.
