 I went to a Quiznos today, I don't even like the sandwiches but I got some Miss Vickies! That's the only place I've seen them, and they only have little bags but that will suffice!

i was a big fan of Old Dutch ketchup chips when i was a kid but I think they changed them though because the last time I had some they didn't have nearly as much flavour as they used to... same goes with most of the Old Dutch flavours...

I am a Lays potato chip fan now or Sun Chips...

I'm eating Shreeeeeddddies. Good good whole wheat Shreddies. With a big spoon because it makes me feel like a kid. LOL

I'm going grocery shopping right now.

AH! damn you! I will be going this Sat or Sun though so I'm going to catch up to you! mua-ha-ha!

Yay! Whatcha get, Treble?

If you're bringing it yourself, you shouldn't have a problem, just be sure to declare it when you go thru Customs.

If you're having a moving company move your stuff, they won't take food of any kind.

This never occurred to me so I packed a tote of food in the upack relocube :)

I wish the moving company had never told me I couldn't pack food or I'd have done it too. Maybe Upack is different?

Has anyone tried the kraft dinner crackers?

I almost bought those when I did my last shop in Canada! They had regular, white cheddar, and another flavour that I can't recall. But I had a shortage of space in my luggage so I had to opt out of them.

So one of my friends just sent me 5 cans of this:

peasoup.jpg

Wow. I bet that cost a small fortune to ship.

Speaking of food not available in Canada, their are these pita breads by Joseph's, that my stepmom raves about. She can only find them at Walmart in Florida, they don't have them here. So twice a year when they are in FL, she buys a dozen or so and keeps them in the freezer. Apparently they are so soft and fresh and deelish. Anyway, I am going home on Monday for the week so she asked me to order her some from this website

http://www4.netrition.com/josephs_bakery_pita_bread.html

(a dozen to be exact!) and bring them with me! They must be really good pita so I ordered an extra pack for myself to try

I'm jealous that you live within driving distance, Jill. When my husband lived in Maryland I did that drive all the time. It was quite nice. I love Pennsylvania.

Oh wait. You're near/in Philly. Scratch that. I was thinking you were near/in Pittsburgh. LOL. What's the drive time from where you are?

I love being able to hop in the car and arrive at my Mom's by dinner time, if I choose to. It made the transition easier, knowing I was so close.

Yup a little bit north of Philly, it's an 8 hour drive, not too shabby at all :)

I have seen large bags of miss vickies at shoprite around here.

My husband will no longer use US made ketchup. He prefers the Canadian made one now. Luckily we have two ginormous bottles that should last us a while.

You could always order some ketchup from this website. It supposedly carries Canadian-only items.

I have seen that website but honestly I have better luck getting friends and family to feel sorry for me and send it down for free. :P

That's what I'm hoping his family will do for us! I've got 2 Costco bottles in the pantry... gonna get 2 more when I go to London, ON for his birthday... then, gonna get 2 more when we come back over with his stuff (if I can make it to the store before we leave all packed up!).

I totally prefer Canadian ketchup to US ketchup. I wasn't as particular before, but now that HE is so picky, I figure I can jump on that bandwagon!! :)

I had my Dad bring me down 6 tins of Habitant Pea soup when he came in April as well, hehehehe, I LOVE that soup and sure wish we could get it here more readily.

“...Isn't it splendid to think of all the things there are to find out about? It just makes me feel glad to be alive--it's such an interesting world. It wouldn't be half so interesting if we knew all about everything, would it? There'd be no scope for imagination then, would there?”

Speaking of pea soup I found a nice yummy recipie for it but now I can't seem to find yellow split peas so far.

I did however find katchup chips this week at walmart they aren't as good as the ones back home but after a year without them it will do. They are made by Herr's I found them with the Seasonal food and stuff so I guess they wont be here long.

I've tried the Herrs ketchup chips too, they're hard to find.... I think they're Herr's Heinz correct? Anyway, you're right they are definitely not as good as Lay's ketchup!!
