Hershey's has the label license for Cadbury's in the US though, so it's not the same, unless you're getting them at an import shop and the label says "Made in UK" or elsewhere. The Hershey's versions suck, the chocolate is not anywhere near as rich and tastey as the Canadian or other versions. I actually emailed them one time to ask them about that, and they said because they use a different type of cocoa, and less of it. There are more fillers in the US versions of chocolate bars, so less actual chocolate to keep the price down.

Personally, I quite enjoy some chocolate in my chocolate.

US Cheez Whiz doesn't actually have any cheez in it, the Canadian version does, hence the difference.

I'm not a big fan of Hershey's myself either. Chocolate DOES taste different here. I think Herhey's makes Reeces stuff too, and it doesn't taste the same as in Canada as well. I'm wondering if Hershey's even makes milk chocolate? They seem to have a darker more bitter chocolate.

I liked Hershey's chocolate when I was a kid, but as I got older, I enjoyed it less. There's a lot of good chocolate in the U.S., but the most commonly available is Hershey's (mostly because it's relatively cheap to produce and sell). If you look at stores like Walmart or whatever, the chances are you won't find quality chocolate. In general, you have to look a little harder to find the really good chocolate.

Yes, I've found Ghirardelli chocolate very good. It's not cheap though. I rarely eat chocolate anymore, so when I do, I prefer good chocolate. I was referencing chocolate that's in candy bars earlier though. I was and am a huge fan of Cadbury, but the Cadbury here is not the same and that's where my comment about Hershey's came from.

I don't shop, nor have I ever shopped at Walmart either. THAT is another thread all in itself. :innocent::lol:

I gotcha. Candy bars are kind of gross: most are covered in far-too-sweet crappy milk chocolate containing some sort of artificial fillings. Not all are like this, of course, but enough are to keep me from eating them (not that I eat chocolate very often). If I'm going to have chocolate, I vastly prefer the dark variety.

I do have to admit that I prefer most of the chocolate bars found in Canada to those that are available in the U.S. The first time I visited I had no idea what Aero, Caramilk or Coffee Crisp was, which surprised my wife. Aero and Caramilk were both good, but too "light on substance" and "too gooey," respectively speaking. Coffee Crisp, however, I really liked.

For quick and easy-to-find chocolate, my wife likes the Lindt Excellence Chili Bar. I would've linked to the Canadian site, but for some reason, only the American site had the right product on display. Lindt is also pretty easy to find (I've seen it at Walgreen's) in the U.S.

One time I bought the Lindt Excellence 99% Cocoa Bar thinking it'd be really good. Well, it was good, but far too potent. So we used it to make some very rich hot chocolate. :)

I can't believe that no one has mentioned Caramilk, that stuff is like liquid gold, I swear. Apparently the Benson and Hedges smokes here are god awful, although I think the ones in Canada are pretty rank too.

We can get caramilk here...many cadbury bars actually (central Florida).

I actually meant Caramilk milk, left out one milk.

What is Caramilk milk? I googled it but didn't come up with anything.

I googled it as well and like you said, nothing came up. Well, some stuff did, but as usual with the Internet, nothing relevant. Maybe Caramilk Milk is some sort of cooking liquid or something.

I think he means these, I have seen them in the grocery store in Calgary - haven't looked for them here.

A handful of "indulgence on the go" that satisfies your sweet craving. Featuring the great taste of Cadbury's best selling chocolate bars, Caramilk® and Crispy Crunch®, as well as Neilson Dairy's own French Vanilla, all shakes are available in a 325mL portable plastic bottle with convenient re-sealable screw cap.

So, I had a look at the list (super helpful btw!)... and saw Pizza Pops, which I literally gasped audibly about... that makes me really sad.

Also, I'd assume they don't have President's Choice brand products down in the US? If that's the case I will REALLY miss, PC Deluxe Mac & Cheese, as well as the PC White Cheddar Mac & Cheese.

:crying:

oh oh.. I just googled it, and apparently they ARE available in some areas of the US... but it looks like it's not available where I'm going.... booooo..... Anyone know how hard (or easy) it would be to smuggle a case of that stuff down there when I move?.... no reason... :innocent:

You can probably go to a store that carries the stuff and just buy a case.

My mom does that with PC soy milk.

And it's dry food, so it shouldn't have a hard time crossing the boarder.

Unless you want to line your suitcases with it, haha.
