You can buy Ketchup and Dill pickle chips on Ebay

Plus this seller will ship any other Canadian Product you might be missing

shampoo, Tim Horton's Coffee Cans etc if you email and tell them what you are looking for

http://cgi.ebay.ca/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewIt...E:IT&ih=018

Thanks for the tip! I went to the site...the price is outrageous! I can see that this would be a lucrative business.

  • 4 months later...

Hmm went to do some holiday grocery shopping and couldn't find a few things here in Hawthorne, California these are the stores I tried - Food for Less (2 stores), VONS, Ralphs, Albertsons, Gigante (sp), and Superior.

- cranberry jello

- Sultana raisins

- Oreo cookie crumbs (bought the some chocolate wafers at $ 6.00 -ouch a box and crushed them)

- decent lard - I make my pie crust with lard in Canada for butter tarts. I tried the lard in the store here and it was way different much greasier. Maybe I will just bring lots with me when I come as it does not have to be refrigerated.

Oh well, I will survive :)

Sometimes I am at the grocery store looking for something and I am looking for the same type/style of packaging that was in Canada. For example the other day I was looking for corn starch and it was right there in front of me but I was looking for the specific type I used to get in Canada and didn't recognize what was in front of me. Soo when I asked the store clerk as she walked by, I looked pretty stupid. :P

Now I am not saying that I expected to find this brand of corn starch its just what is most recognizable to me. It was the yellow and blue box of corn starch that had the red rooster on it... or something like that. Anyhoo.

I went into a spice store today and asked them if they had dutch spice or spekulaas spice and the woman looked at me as if I had no idea what I was talking about and that she had never even heard of it. So I returned the glance :P AND this was a specialty spice store (Penzey's) I just got all the individuals.

Man I totally forgot about All dressed chips! I knew you cant get ketchup chips here, but forgot about the all dressed. I want some.

Yea no Pears is a UK based company so you may be able to find it in a specialty store. As a child I was allergic to most soap products and pears was the only one I could use. But I haven't seen any pears products anywhere down here.

Speaking of soaps though, there is a lush right across the street from where my husband works in Philly and they get their soaps imported from Toronto. My husband usually gets our soap from there.
