Just as a comment, I had the same issue (they asked me for the full medical I-693, not just the vaccination supplement BS, because the Dept. of State did not forward my medical stuff from NY JFK to USCIS).

I went ahead and contacted my doctor in my home country, who said to contact the US embassy in my country, so I did that, and they kindly sent me a copy of my medical files in a sealed envelope ATTN: USCIS.

I threw that in a package to USCIS and was approved 3 weeks later (see timeline).

Cost: a phone call to my mom in Switzerland, ~$3 shipping on a small envelope from Switzerland, and $3 shipping for the package to USCIS!

I can't guarantee that it will work for everybody but it did work for me.

Wow! That is a fantastic idea. It is too late for us to try it, but you should post this in the pinned topic in this section on medicals so that more people know about it.

That is so nice to hear. We found out that apparently the U.S. Consulate in Montreal has a copy of my medical and said they will send it to immigration upon request - so, I mentioned that in my letter - I said that if the copy I was sending was not sufficient, the U.S. Consulate in Montreal said they have a copy which they will grant to immigration upon request.

Hopefully this is going to work. Now I'm just hoping they didn't lose what I sent as the RFE because according to my congressman's rep, they told her they didn't even receive it yet - when USPS listed it as received in CA a week ago! So I'm hoping they just have so much mail they didn't quite finish sorting it out yet... or something.

I just keep freaking out about the fact that if you send them a letter contesting their request and a copy (un-sealed) medical that will be grounds to deny the application. I have heard from people who sent a copy and were approved and those who sent a copy and were rejected....

Yeah, we are a bit worried too but hopefully things will work out... our congressman rep insists it will. Hopefully she is right!

Not sure if it will help any but I just emailed the U.S. Consulate in Montreal and asked them to either send a sealed copy to CSC or to me if they haven't already sent one to my congressman's rep. The email was more detailed and specific than that, of course. Now we'll have to see if they respond...

Another update... finally! Wonder what took them SO long!

On February 25, 2008, we received your response to our request for evidence. We will notify you by mail when we make a decision or if we need something from you. If you move while this case is pending, call customer service. We're hoping and praying our case is not denied... we might contact our congressman rep just to let her know there has finally been an update... and see what she has to say. I just got a job - hopefully this doesn't affect it!

What will be interesting Melyssa is if they request the medical from Montreal. Montreal may be able to send them a copy in a sealed envelope, but it's still a copy too. Let us know how all this pans out. I think sending a copy would suffice.

I am also amazed at how many people this happens to. It is disgusting. Has anyone thought about all the medical reports that are lost??? Where the heck are they going if they're not ending up where they're supposed to be? This is supposed to be confidential information!!! I would be very upset if my medical information was floating around wherever....

Hi , I wonder if you can read the post I put in this forum earlier today and advise what I should do , looks like they also asking for Form I-693 as well full , which has been done already , does this mean they have lost it ??? How do I find out if thats the case and what do you advise I do ? Thank you
