I feel sorry for the citizens of Canada and Great Britain whoi have to endure this process with USCIS.

I would think it would be made easier for our close neighbors and English speaking friends.

Should it be any different for them or the same as for everyone?

Was it necessary to post this question twice?

a non-USC is a non-USC, no i dont think the USCIS process should be any easier on one country and hard on others. Weather you border us or not. IMO

Tough question because part of me wants to say everyone should have the same shot, no one receiving a better deal, but then another side of me says that countries that have proven to have high incidents of fraud in the past should have applicants scrutinized more thoroughly.

Nope, the process should be the same. Fair is fair. However, our paths are made "easier" by having some of the easist consulates to deal with, compared to others.

Canadians have the privilege of travelling to and from the USA basically at will (no need for visitor's visas and such), no need to make it any easier for us! :P

I didn't see it the first time...

but honestly I think "white" nations like canada and the UK and australia should not complain. Yes time apart is tough, but from what I've seen - the Middle East and Africa time wait is the WORST. Going on AR for almost no reason and then staying there for MONTHS.

You wanna feel better about your 7-8 month wait - go read the ME/Africa forum for a bit. THey will make your wait feel like a cake walk. Those poor ladies have to go through so much - plus once their fiance's and husbands get here - they have even more discrimation here in the states.

yes I am sure there is discrimintation against white immigrants too - but it's like "white privilege.." at least we can hide in our white skin - those folks are usually judged before they even open their mouths.

just my opinion

now that i've reread - why should it be made "easier" just because we are white or speak english? That's the most retarded thing I've heard all day.

Ithink as it is we Cdns have it pretty easy!! You dont hear very often on VJ someone getting denied. I was able to travel to DC with ease during the process, with only a slight chance of gettign denied (in my opinion, plus being military helped)

Canadians Visiting the USA while undergoing the visa process, my free advice:

1) Always tell the TRUTH. never lie to the POE officer

2) Be confident in ur replies

3) keep ur response short and to the point, don't tell ur life story!!

4) look the POE officer in the eye when speaking to them. They are looking for people lieing and have been trained to find them!

5) Pack light! No job resumes with you

6) Bring ties to Canada (letter from employer when ur expected back at work, lease, etc etc)

7) Always be polite, being rude isn't going to get ya anywhere, and could make things worse!!

8) Have a plan in case u do get denied (be polite) It wont harm ur visa application if ur denied, that is if ur polite and didn't lie! Refer to #1

When did we start calling Canada and the UK "white" nations? There are as many blacks, indians, asians and arabs in London as in NY I would venture to guess. What is "retarted" anyway.
