Wow, looking at your timeline in your signature, you're waiting for your AOS since September 2005? I've never had an info pass apppointment, but my understanding is that it depends on what kind of information you're looking for. It doesn't cost anything, so you might want to make an appointment and find out if it can help you.

Some people have made an info pass appointment when they've heard nothing from USCIS in a long time, some to get AP prior to getting the actual document in cases of emergency.

We'd have to know what information you're looking for from them, to make comments specificially about if an appointment could help you.

Best of luck!

1. We haven't heard from USCIS about our pending AOS

2. AP was apparently sent but we never received it. We never received the approval notice either. The sent out another letter stating that they sent both letters, which we also didn't receive and we're now being told to submit another form to receive AP again (which we never even received to begin with).

Yes, it's definitely time for an info pass appointment. This is terrible! From viewing other postings about info pass appointments, it would appear that some people get some information from them, others, not too much. I would really consider it important that you follow this up with them though. If you don't get satisfaction from them, I'd be looking at writing a letter to one of your state politicians as well. I don't know if you moved or not, maybe they don't have the correct address? If your timeline is correct, they need to start providing some answers!

The info pass appointments are with your local office, and you need an appointment with them....you just can't walk in. Bring as much information as you can...copies of applications submitted, case numbers etc. and proof of who you are.

Best of luck, and please let us know what happens! (F)

You stated in one of your other threads that you moved, and changed your address, right? Did you file a change of address w/ USCIS? You should not rely on the post office to forward your mail from immigration, because that does not always happen. Your AOS may be bogged down somewhere in the "pipeline" due to your new address, and USCIS not being able to get your mail to you. If they send something out and it gets returned, they may not resend to many times, and may consider your AOS process abandoned if they do not get a response from you.

I would schedule the infopass and inquire about the address, make sure that all their records show a new address. USCIS may have wanted to communicate w/ you regarding your case, but could not because they didn't have your new address.

Good luck,

-P

Did you check your status online? What does it say? If you are approved, are you stuck in FBI namecheck? Otherwise, I can't see a reason why they would tell you to submitt another AP, or why you haven't received the GC.

Also, please fill in your timeline. :)

I've had bad experiences with infopass, but I'd suggest you to go there and speak to them about your status since it's been pending for so long!

They can tell you more than the customer service hotline. If that doesn't get you anywhere, go to your local congressman and have them look into your case, that helped me a lot after I the infopass people told me my case was either denied in Missouri or pending in California. They couldn't figure it out at the infopass place but the congressman representative made one simple phone call to CSC and cleared it all up.

good luck!

Is there a waiting time to speak with a congressman?

I'm sure I'm not the only person that tries to speak with them.

I found the congressman who serves my area on the internet (I live in NYC) I called their office and made an appointment. I never even spoke to the congressman himself, I talked to a representative who deals with immigration issues. She told me to fax my papers over so she could have a look at them, I asked her if we could rather stop by and discuss this in person. So we made an appointment and she was very flexible with her schedule.

We ended up chatting for about an hour about all kinds of stuff, she was such a sweetheart!

Honestly the first good experience I had with any government officials here in the US and it's also free of charge!

That lady was definitely better informed about immigration procedures than the two immigration officers I talked to at the infopass.
