Chantelle walks up to Melodee nervously.

Melodee: Whaa gwaan Chantelle? Dis wedding pretty tuh rass nuh tru? Mi gyal nuff tings change between mi and man frum farrin. Ian is amazingly complicated, and I love it. He keeps me on my toes. I think I’m going to hang on to him for a while. I don’t need the Eraser afterall darling.

Chantelle: Im mek yuh chat so? How yuh suh speaky spokey? Bumbocla** star! Mi fuhget de bokkle dem. Look mi need fe tell yuh something. Mi neva wan yuh fe vex, but nuh time like de present.

Chantelle: Nuh sar. Nutten like dat. Mi dere chill wid a different man now. Mel mi and Shotta do a ting. Im sey yuh nuh rate im same wey, and wan ting ah next ting. Delmar walks slowly from the car. Chantelle asked him to give her time to break the news of their relationship to Melodee alone. She didn’t want Melodee to freak out watching them walk in together. He watches Melodee intently. Then, he notices the farrin man run to her side to keep her from falling. Delmar feels a bit remorseful, until he recalls how callous Melodee has been since she met this man.

Delmar moves quietly to Chantelle’s side, and places a hand protectively around her small waist.

Delmar: Come nuh baby. Mek we find we seat. Yuh look nice Mel. Dis de white man yuh rate? Mi tink yuh like de rude bwoy Mel. Eh..eh. *kiss teet* Likkle more.

Mista White man…watch ow yuh deal wid big man. Mi ago low yuh fe now cuz yuh neva knoa who yuh deal wid. Everyting criss.

Chantelle and Delmar move away quickly from the wrath in Melodee’s eyes. Ian is standing dumbfounded at the heated exchange around him. He has no idea what they are saying, so he goes back to his photography.

Melodee: Mi ago chop yuh bloodcla** RASS! Yuh dutty rass skettel!

Ian: What’s wrong baby? Who was that? Melodee talk to me. Who was that lady? Was that…don’t tell me. Please don’t tell me that was Delmar. His a** is history, I swear on my mama’s grave!

Frowzy: Melodee mi gyal! Yuh sell hoff tuh rass! Step hout inna video light. Mi come fe tell oonu fe tek oonu seat. De people dem ready fe stawt de ceremony. Come nuh.

Melodee: Oh Gawd. Mi cyan manage…Jesus…mi cyan manage.

Ian: Come on Gem. Remember your image. So what, he brought another woman. You are here with me. You said last night that it was over for you and him. You are the most beautiful woman here Melodee. I’m here baby, it’s a new day…no more time for regrets and sorrow. Let’s find our seats.

Ian: You are old enough to know that you can’t trust any woman that calls you her best friend. A woman that wants to hang on to you and make you a BFF, is a woman waiting for the opportunity to phock your man.

*Ian kisses her softly, but he can’t understand why she is so worked up over the loser with her so-called best friend. He is barely groomed, and his ill-fitting suit looks like it had seen one too many washings. Ian shakes his head, and dismisses Delmar until he can deal with him later. He knows that Melodee is itching to jump her friend, but she is trying to maintain her façade as a cultured woman. Ian looks at the groom and groomsmen standing at the makeshift altar, and takes a second look.*

Ian: DAAYYYYUUMMM! Mel why didn’t you tell me that your ex had an identical twin? I thought I was trippin or something. I mean ole boy’s suit leaves a lot to be desired, then I see him in an expensive a** tux. This wedding is shaping up to be very entertaining to say the least.

*The first chord of the wedding march song silences Ian. He turns in his seat to watch the wedding party proceed down the aisle. He doesn’t recognize anyone, so he stifles a yawn and pretends to be interested. Then, he notices Frowzy escorting a plump woman down the aisle. He is smiling so hard, you would be hard pressed not to think he was the one getting married. Frowzy acknowledges Ian with the Jamaican handshake he taught Ian at the bar, and continues down the path. Ian smiles widely, and his eyes follow Frowzy and the woman on their short journey.

Ian turns back around and almost swallowed his tongue.*

Ian: What the phock?! Mya?!!! Hold on…wait a minute. Ian you are really tripping. That woman really looks like Mya. But, she wouldn’t be in a Jamaican wedding. He** naw! It is Mya! MYA???!

Melodee: Mya? That b**ch’s name again. You know her Ian? Is that the woman you came down here looking for? De ooman nasty nuh RASS. Mi cyan believe yuh phock har too.

Crowd: SSSSSSSSSHHHHHHHHHHH!!!! Yuh tuh rude mi yout! Respect de runnings star! Be quiet! Bumbo! RAAS! Let dem finish de suss! Farrin ooman ah skettel…run ah yaad ah beg we man dem! Fiyyyaahhh! Jah Raastafari! Dis is sacred grung…nuh dutty de Lord’s Holy grung! Lawd tek de case! Faaadaa! SSSSSSSSSHHHHHH!!!!

*Mya looks towards Ian’s direction. She looks up at Tradee and smiles. He lifts her hand to his lips to kiss it discreetly. Mya takes a second look behind her, and recognition dawns on her as she looks at Ian’s shocked face.*

Mya: *whispering* Oh sh**! What the he**? How did he get here? How? What? Oh no! He is going to hurt her Travis. How can we stop him? Noooo…noooo…sh*** no!

Tradee: *whispering back* Eeehhnnn. Whaa gwaan Mya? Yuh mek a scene babes. Yuh gwaan like yuh haunted. Calm dung. Everyting criss baby. Mi dere wid yuh all de way. Yuh knoa mi love yuh. Nuh fret.

*Mya and Tradee reach the altar, and she is tempted to run back up the aisle and stop Toya’s descent. She looks nervously at the spot where she saw Ian, but he is no longer there. In the next chair, she notices the woman that she beat at Tradee’s house. The woman is smirking at her, and emitting hissing sounds through her teeth. Before Mya can think clearly, the music starts and the crowd rises from their seats to honor the bride’s walk.*
