Frowzy and Delmar tussle on the ground, both trying to take possession of the gun. The gun goes off again, BANG! and blood pours on the concrete. Delmar drops the gun, stunned because he has never wounded another person, less known taken a life. Mya screams, and covers her mouth in horror at the scene unfolding outside the safety of the car.

Fitz runs to his brother as some men from the crowd grab Delmar. They pin him down to the ground until the police can get there. Tradee is shocked, not sure which way to go. He looks through a fog at the scene before him. His twin lying on the ground, pinned by strangers, a gun lying a few yards away from him, and his best friend now covered in his own brother’s blood. Tradee runs to his friend. Fitz is sobbing uncontrollably, and rocking Frowzy’s lifeless body back and forth.

Fitz: Nuh man…nuh man. SH**!!! Mi ere baby brodda…mi ere. Wake up Frowzy…wake up baby. Mi promise mummie dat mi tek care hof yuh. Mi ah get yuh tuh de hospital and yuh gwaan good. Come on warrior! Yuh strang man…please baby brodda. GAWD!!! *Fitz continues to rock, mumble and cry to his brother*

Tradee: *Kneels and tries to find a pulse on Frowzy*Fitz mi yout…mi sarry. Mi sarry bredin…Bumbo! Ah mi fault. Mi shoulden let im do ie! Fitz…im gwaan man. Im gwaan. Jah knoa! BUMBOCL**!

Tradee gets up calmly and stalks over to his helpless twin. Tears stream down his face, as he looks into his own mirror image. He kicks Delmar in the face full force, over and over again. Delmar spews blood and teeth from his mouth. His face crumbles from the onslaught of Tradee’s foot. Just as he lifts his leg to stomp Delmar’s chest, Mya gets out of the car running.

Delmar: I love you Mya Heerarrerth Haaerengel! Sheredd’s mieneeyne Raasdtda!

Toya paces back and forth at the reception. She absentmindedly accepts both congratulations and sympathetic concern from wedding guests and family members. Her parents do their best to distract her from her worries. Fitz’s mother and grandmother talk to her in comforting tones, and assure her that both Mya and Fitz will be fine.

Toya: Grandmummie…why won’t Fitz call me? He told me that they found her with Delmar. What could be taking so long? Something is not right. I can feel it. Fitz needs me. Oh God! Please let them be okay.

Grandmummie: Toya mi gyal. Hush yuh frettin. Yuh married a very wise and brave man. Im smart and im knoa ow fe stay inna dese streets, undastand? Everyting criss.

Toya’s mother: I’m speechless. I can’t believe any of this. What happened to just relaxing on the beach for your vacation?

Toya’s father: Baby girl, Ian is outside. He wants to talk to you. Now, I agree that he wasn’t the right man for my angel…but, don’t you think he deserves some answers? I raised you to be forthright and honest in your actions Toya. Do the right thing for your own peace of mind.

Toya: But…but…he doesn’t…Okay Daddy.

Toya’s mother: Carl, that man doesn’t deserve the right to breathe the same air as our little girl. Toya, do you want me to come with you?

Toya’s father: Katherine, Toya is not our little girl anymore. She is a married WOMAN. She has to make adult decisions, and running away from things is not an adult decision. Toya, don’t start your new life with baggage. Clear the air, so you can live with yourself. I’m here if you need me.

Toya kisses her mother and father before she walks to the front yard to see Ian. Melodee is standing almost in his back pocket, and she is glancing around nervously.

Toya: What is going on? I thought I told you that you were not welcome Ian. What do you want to talk about? Why is she here? Is she your bodyguard now?

Melodee: Eeehnnn. Ah mi man now. Mi have hevery right tuh stand by mi man. Mi nuh have wuds fe yuh mi gyal, yet. Low mi.

Toya: What?

Ian: Melodee, give me a minute or two. I love you. Do you want to go back to the truck until I’m finished?

Melodee: *kiss teet* Are you trying to get rid of me Ian? I’m not going anywhere.

Ian: Baby. You told me that you were okay with me coming here to settle things. I don’t mind you being with me, but Toya does. I need answers to a few things okay. Remember what I said about class honey.

Melodee: Alright. But, I’m not going to the truck. Do you think I can get something to drink, ma’am?

Toya: Fine. Whatever. What do you want from me Ian?

Ian: I just want to know why. Why did you sneak off to Jamaica to get married? How long have you known this guy? Did you meet him online or something?

Toya: I didn’t know him when I booked my trip Ian. You treated me like a possession, like a dog, actually worse than a dog. My self-esteem was shattered. I mean for God’s sake, you told me that you gave me HIV right after you proposed to me. What kind of sh** is that to pull on the person you claim to love? Fitzroy is the best thing to happen to me. I told him that I may be HIV positive, and he loved me anyway. Fitz opened his heart to me, he gave me friendship, companionship and more love than I ever thought I deserved. So, when he asked me to marry him, I didn’t hesitate. Fitz showed me that your type of love was all wrong, and I deserve better than you. By the way, I’m not HIV positive. I got my test results here in Jamaica.

Ian, I used to want to know why you did the things you did. But, now I don’t…I don’t…Mya? My, honey? I’m so happy to see y-y-you. FITZ!!! OH GOD BABY!!! WHAT HAPPENED?

Toya spots Mya and Tradee getting out of the car. Fitz remains in the car, staring straight ahead. He is covered in blood, and his face is streaked with tears. Toya picks up the hem of her wedding gown and begins running toward him, screaming. Tradee stops Toya, and holds her still.

Tradee: Toya, I need you to calm down. Fitz is not hurt. I have to tell you something very serious. Where is Fitz’s family?

Mya: T…calm down please. Fitz is okay. I promise. Baby, I’m so sorry.

Toya: Mommie…Daddy. Grandmummie! Come quick. Let me go Rasta. Fitz needs me.

Toya and Fitz’s parents and family run outside from the commotion.

Tradee: Fitz is okay. It’s Frowzy. Frowzy didn’t make it. He-he…Fr-Frowzy got shot. Im nuh mek ie!

Grandmummie: Dear Father GAWD! NO! No Father. Jesus Savior pilot mi!

Toya’s mom runs to comfort Fitz’s mom, and Toya’s dad and Tradee run to catch Frowzy’s grandmother. Mya holds on to Toya.

Toya: Let me go Mya. I have to see Fitz. He needs me. He needs me. He needs me. Oh God, what happened My?

Mya: Fitz is not ready right now honey. He hasn’t said two words since…since…since it happened. He wouldn’t talk to the police, he wouldn’t talk to the ambulance staff. He has just been sitting in the same position. Let me help you change clothes honey. Then, we can go over and help Fitz. There is a lot of blood.

Toya: NO! I don’t give a damn about this dress! I need to get to my husband! LET ME GO!!! Fitz, I’m coming baby. Please let me go Mya. I don’t want to hurt you.

Mya releases Toya, and Toya runs to the car. Mya walks behind her, being careful not to interfere. Toya yanks open the car door, and she grabs Fitz’s hand.

Toya: Fitz honey. It’s me…Toya. I’m here. I’m here baby. I love you so much Fitz. Ba-baby can you talk to me? Come on, it’s okay. I love you. Oh baby…please talk to me.

Fitz: To-To-Toya. He killed him. He saved me and Rasta and Mya. Toya. I need my wife. I need Toya. Mummie…whe mi mummie? Doan tell Grandmummie. Ssshh. Granmummie tek wan rass cutlass tuh im headtop. Betta har nuh fe knoa.

I feel you on the violence...but I'm trying to touch on a little of everything. Hush puttus...ie soon gwaan. Remember Melodee just got pregnant by Ian. She and Delmar thought that she was the reason they couldn't have a child together. Melodee got rid of Tradee's baby, not Delmar's when they were in school.

Frowzy was a warrior, and he was loved by all of us. I’m not crying honey. I promise. No tears okay. I’ll change after you get cleaned up and changed. Rasta follow me.
