Jamaica -- Phone problems?

My wife (Jamaican) has B-mobile and she said that they are changing the plans (she has a plan that allows her to call USA unlimited for about $1400JA. She said that they are doing away with that plan. Has anyone else experinced this? And what other plans are out there?

Are you talking about home phone plans? Or cell phone plans?

I have read recently that they are going to increase the cost of all the home phone plans. I believe it was in the Gleaner on Thursday or Friday of last week.

cell phone plan...they used to have 30hrs per month....then went to 16hrs per month and she said they are now going to cancel that.

it's true I'm in the same boat...my fiance and I use to use C&W 42 hours per month and they switch it to 16 hrs (john'crow dem)...when I asked why I was given the reason of flooded network of something of the sort. I find that hard to believe as large as C&W is...so, we try to keep the calls to a minimum.

We use the b-mobile 16 hour (previously 30 hour plan) and I am having a heart attack reading this! We used to use megaphone- unlimited calling to UK and US, but that went under as well. Hopefully McKoy will know something tonight- we are already out of time for this month, so we are only talking 30minutes a day as is. If I find out anything on the phone tonight, I'll post. I hope (for all of our sakes!) that this is not true!

We used to use that 30hr deal too! but they stopped that fast fast! I thought it ended more than a month ago. Now its only 16hrs for a bit more money and even that is getting more and more expensive daily. We talk ALOT and are already done with this months minutes. I figured it was only a matter of time before they realized that that deal was too good to be true. I mean think about it....unlimited international long distance for about $20 US....that was a GREAT deal...toooo great. I think they just figured out they could get people hooked with that "introductory" offer and then change the rate to reflect something thats more like the rest of the phone plans out there.

Now I just use a calling card and the 16hour plan.

Yea it was to good to be tru but you would think that they would just increase the price. Even $40 ($2800JA or so) a month is reasonable to me

I talked to McKoy last night and he called C&W when we got off the phone. So this morning he informed me that they are apparently creating a new plan (I immediately said, "yea, with less hours!") which Mr. Positive McKoy is sure means a better plan for us (bless his little positive heart). Anyway, I guess we will all just have to wait until February to find out!

Looking back at how much my phone bill was every month, I always thought this would end one day cause it definately was too good to be true.

I hope they come up with something decent for you guys.

Not yet, and I just looked at my personal cell bill and it was over $300!!! Thats a bill including Dec, but still. Apparently with all that 30 hour talk time from my husbands phone I didn't realize that i was talking more in peak hours and went over my minutes!!! So there was one call from him that cost me $26 dollars alone. Didn't figure it out til my cell was shut off, lol! So now I have no cell phone, nor does hubby have any minutes to call me

So I am just exercising patience til I can pay my bill off in a week and hubby can get more minutes next month. Augh!! this sucks!
